Well before Milei, there was the risk of Peronists nationalizing any investments made in the country. The Argentinians can either be a wealthier nation or they can keep sticking it to whoever they’re sticking it to and enjoy more poverty.

Nationalized commodity infrastructure is only acceptable for NATO members like Norway, I assume?

Norway is able to fund the process of extracting oil. Argentina isn’t able to fund the process of mining their natural resources. They can’t really fund anything, that’s their big issue. So a foreign investor could work with them to do so.

Not sure why you’re bringing NATO up. This is about whether or not a sovereign nation is able to extract their natural resources internally or not.
