So much food, so lethargic.
Lamb all gone.
Tummy so full.
Today's challenge: Defrosing of the chest freezer. Followed by attempting to repack said freezer in a more organised and accessible manner.
Aaaaaand BIL tested positive for covid.
Goddamnit that family giving us c19 better not become a goddamn Christmas tradition
I just want to say if you make a bunch of gyoza for any occasion people will eat all of them.
And that's a fact!
Four zuchinis harvested today, more on the way and plenty in the fridge still. I'm adding dehydrating zuchinis for zucchini flour to my to do list. Next step is giving away zucchinis to the food cupboard. The pumpkins and squash are starting to take off now too, and if the number of flowers on the tomato plants is any indicator I will have plenty of those next year too. I really need to get on to planting more leaves and root crops though. I do have self-sown mustard greens everywhere as well as kale and beetroot greens, so I guess it is mostly lettuce I need to try and get more of.
I'm regretting my decision to be shy and not steal leftovers last night, because now I'm hungry and rather than chucking something in the microwave and being done with it, I have to make something โน๏ธ
Biscuits have been made and iced. A bit rough, but I'm sure that won't stop anyone eating them. I just need to wait for them to dry so I can pack them up for work tomorrow. The gingerbread dough was much nicer to work with after a couple of days in the fridge.
Thank you Baku bot.
Beep boop
It's become a tradition amongst our small group of friends that whoever hosts xmas day also ends up hosting the hangover boxing day gathering where all the leftover food is divvied up into food parcels for everyone to take away. So much food left. Ham and turkey sammidges for the next few days.
That thunder was so loud it woke me up.
I'm having trouble sleeping (for unrelated reasons), but it seems like every time I've started to relax I'm shaken back into anxiety land by thunder
I accidentally ate the whole box of cheezels.
It's the cheezels fault for being delicious not yours.
I have O Fortuna stuck in my head and now I'm subconsciously doing things to its rhythm
In another edition of "What I made today", cucumber pickles. Made from a couple of rescue cucumbers from the food cupboard.
Gin and tonics yesterday had me passed out at 10.30PM
Back at it again today because yolo!
And the cricket is on at the G. Yay!
The rain gods have heard our pleas.
There appears to be a bit of rain heading in via Yea in a couple hours but let's hope it holds. Back in Melbourne and nice to see some sun again
Doh. Youโre right. Quite a big and heavy band trying to make its way down at the moment.
Fingers crossed it disappears and rains itself out.
Good to have you back!
It's sunny too.
And in a stroke of luck Iโve unearthed 2 bottles of wine I didnโt know I had!

Lunch is champagne and brie. Because I fucking can.
Sky's sounding angry.
Back when I first developed an interest in gardening a few years ago, I was given some pineberry plants from one of the workers. Unfortunately by the time approval was finally given for a garden and gardening things were bought, she'd quit and the pineys had died. I've been trying to find them for a while with no luck. But yesterday I was gifted a very healthy pineberry plant and I'm so excited
I've now learnt there's such a thing as bubbleberries and other types of hybridised strawberries and I think I'm going to get yet another planter with all sorts of whacky hybrids
I'm so happy with it, it even has little fruits already and they're soooo adorable
I have a whole lot of leftover top shelf cheese that no one ate yesterday which I knew would happen.
I'm not upset about that.
It does beckon a few questions though.
- what am I going to do with all
- will it all go in midnight snack jaffles
Which, coincidentally brings us to today's boxing day RAVE CHOON (somehow):
I feel cheated. Docklands didn't get much in the way of exciting weather. Bit of rain but that was it.
Good morning! Still happily in PJ land, wondering if I can be bothered braving the shops or if staying in PJs is better. PJs are definitely better, but also means I'm less likely to also go to the gym.

Imagine accidentally shooting off early In front of the nation on live telly. Awkward start to the Sydney to Hobart.
I love Boxing Day. All of the Christmas guff is over (for me anyway), and I can chill all day, watch the cricket, eat great food, read, and generally do bugger all with no pressure.
Hope you're all having a good one.
Funderstorm incoming. This one ain't gonna rain itself out. Time to get under cover if able.
this is MARGARET
I napped today and am awake now ๐ฅฑ
Jackson Warne seems to be a super impressive young man. I love that they're doing free heart tests at the MCG.
Just caught and released the white tailed spider that was eating all the daddy long legs in my home. Best Christmas present I could have asked for. I actually hated them so much lol
Edit: Photo. Good riddance!
spoiler
Happy Boxing Day! Remember to put out pumpkin seeds tonight so the Boxing Day Gremlin doesn't eat any of your toes! ๐ฆ
