In an unusual public criticism, several job centre chiefs have voiced concerns that they will have to hire new bureaucrats to argue with targeted individuals over their bus being late.

The new "work obligation" targets 22.000 individuals and is estimated by government bureaucrats to result in a whopping 300 extra people in full-time employment. The estimated cost of the new obligation is DKK 170 million, resulting in a price-tag for each person in full-time employment of DKK 567,000 or USD 84.000. It is the most expensive employment programme relative to expected effects in Danish history.
