Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk said the rift between his organization and Fox News is alive and well.

Kirk, a pro-Trump activist, was once a regular on the air at Fox News. In turn, the network’s biggest stars were regular headliners at his TPUSA events. The relationship apparently collapsed earlier this year, with Kirk disappearing from the air at Fox and its talent disappearing from his events.

While Fox News has not publicly commented on the reasons behind the rift, some theories abound. TPUSA is a haven for conspiracy theories, most notably former President Donald Trump’s lie that the 2020 election was stolen. A Daily Beast report from July suggested the rift had something to do with Fox’s $787 million settlement with Dominion over those election lies, as the network feared having its hosts participate in events where such conspiracy theories were being pushed.

“Fox’s relationship with Turning Point is basically over,” a network source told the Beast. “They don’t want their talent associated with them anymore.”

So many opportunities to spread the Riker these days...

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 21 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I just want to say I appreciate your dedication to spreading it

One day, all of Lemmy will be Risa!

[–] NielsBohron@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

I haven't even watched Trek other than in elementary and middle school when I watched TNG every day after school (and then the Chris Pine movies when I was in grad school), and I still love Risa.

I have absorbed just enough of the lore through general nerd osmosis to understand the memes, and it's fantastic.

ha. it took a .8 billion dollar settlement to get fox news to move their bullshit needle -> <- that much. im surprised it happened at all.

The important thing is that the effects are exponential so an equal amount added to this would be far more effective at renouncing bat shit from their mouths.

And that minuscule amount is triggering!

I can never tell if that's his real face or if it's been photoshopped smaller and smaller again...

[–] Desistance@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

He's just trying to save face. Teeny, tiny face.

[–] athos77@kbin.social 9 points 2 years ago

If you look at the photo, you can see his teeny, tiny hands too.

The snowflakes crave their safe spaces

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago

Its also no true scotsmaning themselves into smaller and smaller groups. Which I'm all about.

Rather them hating on eachother, than unified and destroying the country.

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 19 points 2 years ago

And no one really gave a shit.
