What the military "has to offer" is about four years of living in a centrally planned society where all of your basic needs are taken care of and you can form a strong social bond with your fellow soldiers, which is honestly pretty nice but it's not worth killing foreign kids over and it's cool that more people are realizing that.

One thing they fail to address (bc Chud site obvioisly) is that many Chuds who would normally be Gung ho in the military aren't renewing because they hate Biden. They literally think he's "destroying military". One of my old coworkers was a former recruiter and he would go on rants to me about how biden is a communist and he made his brother (whom he got into the military) get out because of it. These people have no critical thinking skills. It's all reactionary.

18 year old kids know it isn't a good deal. If their parents have insurance and are able to keep it, they'll be covered until they're 26, and having student loan debt probably isn't as scary to them if they've seen multiple people (older siblings and friends) in their lives talk about it and be (relatively) okay. At the same time as that, there's also been enough of a reaction against going to college/taking on big debts that the idea of learning a trade is having a comeback as well. Given that 4 years is a hell of a long time at 18 and the prospect of an extremely structured environment sounds pretty bad to lots of people, it's a no-brainer that kids aren't even considering it.
