It was an awful and criminal action to expel Jewish people from the Arab states and kingdoms bc of the actions of Zionists.

It's part of the long, complicated, sordid history of Zionism. I get the impression that Zionists don't bring it up much because it also leads to an investigation of the horrible treatment of Middle Eastern and North African Jews by the Ashkenazi Zionist power structure.

All that said; It's completely irrelevant to Zionism and the genocidal occupation of Palestine. The actions of foreign states do not bear on the action of the Zionist state and it's violence against Palestinians. "They did it first!" is not a justification for genocide, and saying "We did a genocide because they did it first" speaks to the depravity of the person making the argument.

That Zionism endangers Jews everywhere. Some may misattribute Zionism to all Jews, which is an error, but is also a predictable result of Zionism, especially when the Zionists work very hard to conflate Jewishness and Zionism, to the detriment of non-Zionist Jews.

Zionists like to bring this up as a gotcha and ask things like "why doesn't the pro-Palestine side ever talk about giving Jews who were pushed out of Morocco a right to return there? Expulsion didn't just happen to Palestinians"

Why don’t Zionists ever talk about giving Jews who were pushed out of Morocco a right to return there? Why don’t Zionists talk about expropriating German land to create a Jewish state? They’re the ones who engineered the holocaust lol. Obviously, they shouldn’t be the only ones to advocate that, but when even you don’t do advocate for it, how would anyone know it’s something you care about?

It’s like white conservatives complaining about how cops kill more white people when a black person is killed then never bring it up again because they do not give a shit. Every time when a marginalized person speaks up, the oppressor denounces them because they’re not actively advocating for every single marginalized group and issue at the same time. Surely there’s a fallacy for this type of behavior.

My uneducated opinion is that it was a tit-for-tat, due to the Nakba.
