So I finally got around to listening to this properly. I don't know what took me so long, well I do... I feel like I kinda have Run The Jewels fatigue and it's basically down to the fact that I loved RTJ and RTJ2 so much, only to be underwhelmed by later projects, to the fact that I have an aversion to listening to them. So while everyone was raving about the album, I had it sitting waiting.

When I eventually sat down to throw it on, the ID3 tags were a mess and so I tapped out, promising to go back when I had the patience to fix them and that. So one day... It was today... I jumped back into the album.

Apparently I stopped halfway through NRICH featuring 6LACK and Eryn Allen Kane, so I started this time from Talk'n That Shit! and I'm not gonna lie, the shit sounded better and I'm not sure if the album just kicked up a gear or it was because the tags didn't look like shit, but this shit sounded better.

From there on out, I pretty much enjoyed the album to the end. There's a couple tracks I'd skip every time and around six have made it into the rotation, at least temporarily, but it was a really pleasant experience.

Oh and the best track on the album, in my opinion at this moment in time, Don't Let The Devil featuring El-P and thankugoodsir. The production and delivery, chef's kids!

BTW, outside of the novelty of the Andre 3000 and Future track, I'm not sure me and it gets affinity. I'll listen a few times to really make my mind up, but for the most part, for now, meh!

Rtj2 was phenomenal, I think all their albums stray though there's always a track or two that could have been cut. Just earlier the highs were so bombastic and fun.

RTJ3 has some of my favourites by them, like Down, but I think they realised the bragadocious stuff needed to be changed up and I found RTJ4 to be a solid refresh, though again some tracks were too much.
