You should use the original link as the post link, then lemmy will automatically reference the cross-posts (also the cross-post link will be instance agnostic so it won't pull people out of their local instance).

If you edit the post it should sort itself out.

Thanks, didn't know that. It's corrected now.

Hm, could you explain how is that supposed to work in more detail? I still see the cross post link as taking me to the other instance; furthermore, even the share link and "open in browser" in Liftoff are taking me out of the instance 🤔

I think maybe not all apps show the automated cross-post link - I'm not seeing it right now on Jerboa. But yeah I think basically your instance checks the link against all other links it has (both local communities and federated) then it just adds cross-post links for each one, as well as a link to the new post in the old posts.

Hrm, so... There is a chat bot installed in Line that monitors all incoming messages and inserts itself when it it's triggered by something said in a private conversation?

As much as I want disinformation fought I'm extremely wary of this approach.

It looks like it's just a bot you have to invite into your chat: https://checkcheck.me/en/

This isn't like Discord's Clyde that sometimes just pops up to put the app's internal messages into a conversation style chat, this is a chatbot by an independent company.

I don't think I'd want this bot to listen in on DMs, but this doesn't seem all that harmful in most group chats I participate in.

Ah, that's rather better if it's voluntary.
