Canada. You need to show it's effective and does what it sets out to do, or your going to only make it harder for your brothers and sisters down south to make any headway against our absolutely fucking rampant gun violence problems.

I hope with all my heart that it succeeds.

Don't count on us to demonstrate effective policy. We're the country of half-measures. It works okay, but never really well. ๐Ÿฅน

No policy works perfect for anything anywhere. It will always be a compromise somewhere.

I don't think we will see any decrease at all with this, as what we had before was already fairly effective. Most gun violence from handguns was committed with illegally owned guns that came from south of the border.

Banning legal handguns just punished people who legally own them. The criminals will still get them just as easily as before in my opinion.
