The funniest part about the whole vampires not seeing themselves in a mirror is because mirrors were generally made from silver which is considered a "pure" metal.

Most modern mirrors are made from aluminum so a modern vampire wouldn't have this problem.

I've always heard that it was because reflections were supposedly a representation of a person's soul, which they didn't have. I always thought this was a stupid idea, even given the supernatural nature of them. Glad it's typically debunked in modern vampire stuff.

Yes! I've brought this up a few times, and I distinctly remember also calling it the best piece of vampire fiction.

EDIT: The exact phrase I used was "Best work of vampire fiction I've ever seen".
