Im unclear on why Biden's admin would? Like seriously, why would they care about a 3% tax on a specific industry in another country?

Probably because various sources in the US, including members of the Biden administration, were making complaints and threats(archive) about this tax before it was passed.

If there weren't already a number of indicators showing how corrupted the wealthy lobby in the US has made the US government, I'd say the ability to compel a president to lobby on behalf of your company to another country's president about the taxes you do/don't pay to that country would be a solid show of it.

Isn't that the job of the government. To protect industry -> jobs -> economy.

They sent senators to Switzerland to force the government to stop pirate bay.

What saved PB was that they put their servers in bank vault where it was illegal for any swiss government to touch. The government had no ability to shut the server down and america didn't like that.
