No worries, and thanks for posting sources and RSS feeds! :)

This thread is so delightfully wholesome, I want all my social media interactions to be like this. :)

Kids can be neat, interesting, and thoughtful.

Babies are a nightmare of screaming and yuck.

Honestly, babies sleep and eat. Yeah, you have to keep them clean, but kids? They are emotionally manipulative suicidal nightmares too much of the time, and you still have to keep them clean. (I have a 5 and 7 year old.)

Key phrase was "can be". Kids under 9 are just under that age where they're testing boundaries.

My kid is 12 and the absolute sweetest, best kid ever! He's one of the reason I'll never have another– I'm not risking my sanity with a gamble.

The little kid phase won't last forever! You can make it through!

Genuinely, thank you. Those sparks of creativity, consideration, and joy are absolutely worth more than anything.

Aye! Sometimes it's okay to be like "man, these guys suuuuuuuck". You're not a bad person or a bad parent for thinking it.

Things will get better!

Every children's birthday party should serve mimosas

My family's adults always drank alcohol at kids parties. Is that not a thing?

[–] datelmd5sum@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

I drink a lot. If I had children I'd definitely drink a lot more.

It's definitely cultural. I know people who consider it abhorrent. Other cultures teach their kids how to help serve the alcohol. For example, I learned how to make mojitos once I was old enough to carry the pitcher.

Genius that they show a dog chasing a cat.

Birth VERY painful. Hope this helps.

Okay that's what I thought but I wasn't sure because the catwoman's dialogue is written in an odd way.
