Worst ones are prolly the flags with Union Jack (Except for UK/Aus/NZ). Kinda lazy shit. Union Jack itself can be considered evil but not the worst thing aesthetically.

Bhutan is the best because it has a dragon

Israel is the worst because it appropriated a religious symbol and transformed it into a symbol of hate.

USSR, probably the best flag design in history. Most of the SSR flags are nice too.

Shoutout to Cuba for somehow having a flag that suits a communist country really well even though it's the same flag they used before the revolution.

South Africa and Norway. The old Zaire flag was one of my favorites until they got rid of it. The old GDR flag is my personal GOAT and I felt that way long before I was a commie.

Worst currently existing country flag: Definitely the US. Way too many fucking stars and stripes. It's a much more convoluted version of the Texas state flag, which is an okay flag design.

Worst country flag overall: Apartheid South Africa. It's a boring tricolor with three crappy miniflags copypasted on the tricolor. Just look at this shit. Some of their government flags are just joke flags. Imagine thinking you should be taken serious with a flag like this lmao

Any flag with the UK flag in the corner is atrocious just from a design standpoint. How much of a loser do you have to be to just base your entire existence off another country? Even the flags of solidarity (Arab and African colors, hammer and sickle) have varying patterns, layout, additional symbols, etc. I would be less offended if they simply made the UK flag the entire flag, and then added variations to it.

I like the composition of the DPRK flag, along with Mauritania's.

Actually, I really like the RoK flag too even though I dislike what it has come to represent under the colonial puppet state.

As as these selections are:

• Wales: They have a dragon on their flag, that's pretty cool.

• Canada: The leaf should in theory invoke some sense of respect for nature (even though Canada emits more GHG per capita than the Great Satan. Although I will give Quebec and the Maritime provinces some props for not being the reason for the high per capita emissions)

Now for some imperial-periphery ones.

• Cuba: What the US flag should have been. Not too busy, not too minimalist

• China (totally not biased): Nice allude to both the soviet union and also the red and yellow are essentially the chinese equivalent of Purple for Roman emperors.

• Bhutan: They also do the objectively correct thing and put a dragon on their flag

• Ghana: Anti-colonial vibes with the flag, and also the grandmother of Ian-Jones Quartley designed it so I think that's pretty cool (O.K KO deserved better fuck you HBO max)

• Mexico: but with an eagle. Eagles are cool.
