We're just posting anti-union propaganda on the fediverse now?

Are y'all at least getting paid for it? fedposting

How many times does satire and irony posting have to backfire on us before we realize that shit only works if the person is smart enough to be in on the joke; otherwise we're just propagandizing against ourselves.

just request c/anti_melina_action or something. No reason we can't have that one

If some random wrecker came in and posted anti union stuff they'd be bullied off the site and banned. Having an entire community dedicated to being "ironically" anti union is absurd.

Satire is for people who like to smirk, it is counterproductive in the end though

I'n trying to turn it in to an ironic pooping comm. o7

But yeah, not really needed as a discrete comm. If people have something funny it can go in memes or main.

Yeah, I saw that community yesterday and was super confused.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago

Was there a point to the Anti-Union-Action comm?

Maybe... mmmaaayyyybbeee it could be useful for pointing out anti union propaganda. But from a recent quick scroll it isn't all that obvious.

I wonder... is there a way to have a com that is only visible on its home instance?

[–] Aabbcc@lemm.ee 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Where are the posts? I haven't seen any I feel like I'm missing out

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago

You won't see it on ee unless someone else from ee (or you) go subscribe to it.

I don't really care about the comm, but whether we get rid of it or not it shouldn't be because of the fediverse I'm genuinely unclear why we should give a shit about that

I think it's hilarious, I love it.

Agreed that it sucks but I don't think this is a super serious issue, mostly because it's such a bad bit that it will almost certainly tail off to zero activity like 95% of comms on here do. Maybe the bottom of the sidebar should say it's satire just so we have something to point to for the lemmy libs though.
