Early 20th century engineering was like the Cambrian Explosion, trying out all kinds of whacky shit until settling into the practical forms we know today.

Unfortunately, I can't see it on my Lemmy.world or Kbin account, so I can't do anything about it. I banned a fellow like that not too long ago.

I think some people try to get the trans friendly lemmy.blahaj.zone defederated as much as possible. Those kinds of attacks are sadly a weakpoint in the fediverse.

Basically you can't emergency brake. If you do then you get to do your best impression of a hamster going down a hill.
Honestly I think that is one of the main reasons these never caught on. But yes you can still buy one if you want. They never fully left.

I believe that it controlled the tilt. Notice how his seat is still upright. Modern ones don't do that you have to turn by leaning, which is probably a better system anyway.
