what they fail to mention is that they would die because a stray IOF bullet hits them instead of a Palestinian child.

Sacha Baron Cohen mentioned that, during the filming of Bruno, when he was in Israel, that was the closest time he ever got to being killed. Because he was acting like a flamboyant gay man, a mob attacked him and tried to stone him.

Apparently, not the whole thing. At some point, it got so bad, he had to break character.

And yet he is a Zionist who lobbied against TikTok to take down pro-Palestinian content.

An Israeli mob, btw, not a Palestinian one

west bank settlers meanwhile are extremely tolerant of LGBTQ+ people.

even Israel 'proper' is extremely reactionary but West Bank settlers are on another level.

Ooh, do they make a habit of lynchings, or something fun(awful) of which I'm not aware?

Even if Hamas wanted to kill as many queer people as possible, they'd have no hope of matching, let alone surpassing, Israel's body count

I was coincidentally walking around the National Mall on the day of that pro-genocide “March for Israel” and saw a toooon of people with combination Israeli/Pride flags and I just wanted to ask them “Hey out of curiosity is gay marriage legal in Israel”

Might be on purpose if the IDF mistakes them for a journalist

Not sure how the idea that Israel is pro-lgbt even spread because they haven't legalized gay marriage and only recognize same-sex couples that had their marriages done abroad. They don't even recognize Civil Unions in their country.

It's just a reaction to the image of the group they are fighting. When Hamas is perceived as ISIS, Israel is automatically more friendly by comparison in people's minds.

I love getting this yelled in my direction by the same people that would gladly outlaw queer people if they had their way.

And it’s like, shit, I’m a self centered asshole but even I’ll acknowledge that the world is much bigger than me

My favorite part is when they make mention of the method ISIS tended to use to kill queer people in reference to Hamas. Because that's so racist you'd think even libs would notice

Gay people aren’t allowed to have sympathy with any group of people suffering from atrocities until they audit each “victim” to ensure that they liked gay people maybe-later-kiddo
