iPhone was stolen in India, thief is messaging through a US-based WhatsApp — any way to figure out who/where they are? (alien.top)

My mom’s iPhone was stolen 3 weeks ago.

The thief took out the SIM card and turned off the phone so FindMy hasn’t updated. They haven’t turned it on since so the erase hasn’t happened either.

The thieves have been WhatsApping pretending to be Apple Support with a US number, but we obviously haven’t responded.

Is there any way to figure out and get back at these lowlifes?

Would really want to teach them a lesson. Have the resources to do it if I can just figure out some details about them.
