It would be interesting to hear some takes on this.

I have a car that is going to be 20 years old next year. No longer a teenager. In July, the battery died. My mum's hypothesis was that vacuuming the car and having the doors open for an extended period was what caused it, because we had changed the battery only a year prior.

A couple of weeks ago, I vacuumed the car. Then I didn't drive it for a few days. It wouldn't start. Dad says something about "phantom amps" and suggests that the Bluetooth FM transmitter plugged into the cigarette lighter could be causing it. Car has been jump-started and battery will hopefully be okay.

Both parents say it's an old car that's never been amazing with batteries. Or we've just had a run with shit batteries.

I'm just perplexed.

To people with air purifiers, can anyone point me to a definition of the L1 L2 L3 L4 scale for the VOC gas detection....? Eg. L1 = 0-7, L2 = 8-12

Is it not something specific to the manufacturer of your air purifier? Mine just has different coloured lights.

Fwiw when I was researching consumer grade air purifiers the consensus was that the VOC monitors on them are usually cheap and not that great, rather than use auto detect settings just put it on mid level and use a proper VOC detector to determine whether it's all good. Or something...

Changing your sleep cycle fucking sucks. Felt like an absolute Zombie all day. Hope it ends soon.

I have a gripe. The dirty fucking bats that have taken up pole position in next door's fruit trees. Squawk squawk squawk.

Soo it's fuckoff friday..

I just set up a spensive samsung air purifier and connected to it with a phone, through the air.. which if you think about it is either genius or really fucking pointless.

I also am not inhaling formaldehyde which is something that is good.. or benzene which I presume is good too.

Bought some new Merino wool socks, they're a little thicker than I'd like, but they are very very comfy! The brand had some other styles that looked thinner, so I might give those a go. Also very very happy that they are 100% Australia-made and manufactured.

[โ€“] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I got some of these once, washed them in hot water and they shrank to palm size and were unwearable. They were expensive too. Check the label for washing instructions and if none, wash these in cold water!
