theres some respectability politics at the end but frankly im just happy hes getting the recognition and money he deserves. some fact the video doesn't mention. Dapper Dan was inspired to study fashion design by a malcom x quote.

he started out selling shoplifted luxury items from his car.

hes vegetarian now and i dont think he works with fur any longer but i cant confirm.

frankly you should read his whole wiki hes lived a truly amazing life and is one of the most impactful living black designers.
