Because of Apple's seamless ecosystem. And great UI/UX.
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
Parents got me a 5S for when I was in high school, and whenever I get a $0 upgrade available I take it. I don’t actively seek out to get the newest iPhone every year, I’ll just get whatever free upgrade I can take when the time comes. I’m used to the UI/OS, and it’s easy to transfer data from one to the other. So it’s just a convenience thing more than preference or anything. It’s the only Apple device I own and ever see myself owning.
It just works and does so continuously. Im holding onto a 6s for dear life for lots of different reasons. My Note 8 camera just stopped working because of S/W, after the 3rd factory reset I gave up and bought a some mid-end Samsung derivative for the Andorid stuff I need. When I upgrade both my phone 'I will have to get' the latest Andorid Super star, with the iPhone I'm at leisure!
I used to love rooting and doing this or that, but it got grindsome when an update broke something etc. With Apple I just accept it's a phone how they want me to use it!
In practice it’s the better experience for ME, in theory I would think it would have been android but it’s not.
I made the switch to android a few years ago, and played with the idea of emulators for example… but after playing a couple roms… I just stopped? I did not care much for the experience. I mean it works but for me I can either play games at home or on my switch or my pocket emulator that I got for 50 bucks. And even then I don’t bring any form of gaming entertainment on the go unless it’s a trip.
But yeah, iPhone just seems more quick, seamless, ect.
I still use an android for my Google voice account but that’s it, and that’s only because I want to physically differentiate my old number with my new.
The eco system. The efficiency and optimization of ios.
Long time flagship android user prior to my 12 pro max and now 14pm. Wife has a s22 ultra. Slows down and battery drain is nuts.
I like the experience of using an iphone more than an Andriod. My Andriods always seemed to not last long and end up with hardware issues. Every since having an iphone I have not had that issue. Apple chargers last a long time. My last apple charger lasted 2yrs before I lost it. When I had an andriod I was buying a new charger every 2 -3 weeks because they would just stop working. So overall it just seems like less of a headache for me.
Because I’ve never had a better watch than the Apple Watch and I’ve also killed multiple android phones so I gave up. I’ve never had an issue with an iPhone
It’s comfortable to me. I don’t really like changing things unless I absolutely need to. So far with the iPhone it does what I want/need and there is no reason to change.
Because the Android market is in shambles, IMO. Pixel phones are in my mind the only good Android phones, except since the release of the 6 they have been garbage. That naturally coincides with the release of the Tensor chip and the adoption of the trendy underscreen fingerprint reader. 3 iterations of this Pixel generation and they refuse to change out that awful optical fingerprint reader. If they would change that one thing, I could deal with the rest of the bugginess of Tensor phones.
Samsung is out the question. I do not want an inferior Samsung mirror version of every Google app or feature, or that horribly stupid looking UI.
All other Android brands are Chinese companies, so they are a big nope. Motorola could be great if they weren't owned by Lenovo.
The quality of iOS and its apps. Also because I’m used to it
I’m a masochist
iMessage and FaceTime. I have an Android phone that's my main and personal phone. Side phone for work is an iPhone.
I don't have to explain myself! 😠
I had many problems with Android, that was making user experience shitty. Got first iPhone 15 Pro Max and I don't regret, it's much better for me and I am never gonna get back to android.
Because android phones were still ass when I was picking out a smartphone like 14 years ago.
I keep buying iPhones because I don’t want to replace over a decade of app purchases.
Better app quality, and as a standalone communication device, it does things I need to be done while out and about very well. However, I usually also carry another device either a windows ultrabook or an android tablet to make up for the iPhone’s limited interoperability.
I got married and had kids and have no time to fuck around with a phone. iPhones work and that’s all i care about - and I was a hardcore Android geek, flashed all my androids right out of the box! Never had a pixel though.
Trade in value
I traded a 12 mini in for a 15 pro a while back
Ecosystem is great.
Design is very nice, looks very elegant and well made.
OS is way better than any other phones in the market, again looks very modern and nice design and also the way the apps are etc, makes it very organized.
Usually lasts long when taken care of.
I prefer the sandboxed model — as much as people dislike it. Have apple one subscription, Apple Watch, Apple TV, iPads, MacBooks.
I generally pick a side and go all in. Both vehicles are now Teslas. Couldn’t see myself having two types. If Apple made cars, I’d probably have them 😭.
I like it.
Because am dumb
like others, ecosystem. however, Samsung ecosystem seems so fire but I spent all my money on this so
It was my first phone so I just sticked with the brand but the phone is the only thing I own from Apple.
iOS.
I got tired of android. Started with an iPhone 3G, then 4, then 4s. Went to a Galaxy S4 for all of the missing “features”…..and went to an iPhone 13 2 years ago.
I’ll have the battery replaced in this iPhone before I upgrade.
My then work laptop that I got to keep was my first interaction with a MacBook. This was early 2020. Never had the money to invest in Apple products before that. Was laid off from that job but couldn’t keep the laptop. Was using an android all that time. Found it a little difficult to transfer photos or stuff from device to another. Also owned an iPad since 2018 as a farewell gift from another job before. Oneplus 7T that I bought in 2019. In 2022 my OnePlus has finally had enough. It is sluggish to the point where I can’t even turn off the alarm. Overheated till it switched off and I had to let it cool down. Finally gave in, got an iPhone. Then my Oneplus watch stopped working with the ios. So got the watch.
And then the AirPods because suddenly it became very important to be able to switch earphones between devices 😂
The ecosystem eventually sucks you in. Which is why I ask people to not buy any Apple product if you don’t plan to get atleast some of the others 😂
Security
I already own Apple devices so the integration is really good. But also, I find the apps are more refined and more often updated on iOS. App A on iOS is really polished and has frequent update and on Android I've found App A to lag behind, not have the same features etc.
I also prefer the closed App Store and the hardware/software integration.I feel like Android has to content with hundreds of different phones so the OS does the best it can to run efficiently. On iOS everything is tuned to the hardware a little better so batteries last longer because they're optimized, not because they have to pop a massive battery in the phone and hope for the best.
Overall software quality and Photos App@icloud
I disliked my last android falling out of date after barely 2 years and consuming batteries like they're AA's (LG G4)
So I figured I'd try one of these iphones based on the reputation of long software support.
Got an Xr shortly after its launch with the goal of lasting 4 years to justify the extra cost.
Been using for 5 years and counting. I've been satisfied with the ecosystem and have added a watch, tablet, and use their TV box now.
I don’t care about advantages of Android. So I prefer the it just works closed ecosystem. Also iMessage and I own a lot of movies on iTunes.
Why not is the better question.
Bad experience with Android. It was early, but carrier wouldn’t update the OS, apps just kept getting bigger because they had to work with more phones, and because of that I had to drop apps due to memory issues—this was before apps could be stored on additional memory. Didn‘t want to have to keep buying new phones. Also permission issues and frequent malware.
With iPhones, the OS is stable, is kept updated for at least five years at no cost; using it stays consistent, it works with other Apple products; apps tend to be safer and work longer; it suits my needs.
I love Samsung but you gotta be so extra with it if you love your privacy. Like Why even come to the market with a phone brand that relies so heavily on Google for basically every thing ? but what's weird is Samsung (not sure about other phones that use android) but I know samsung has their own App Store, gallery, internet browser... contacts, keyboard system and even messaging while simultaneously using Googles.
They should have dedicated more time to making their own ecosystem and moving away from Android, especially now googles come to market. Why even bother with samsung when you can just buy a google phone? And why bother when it's still perfecting its hardware when you can just buy an iPhone and have one operating system and one cloud and one every thing? And also if you want repairs (least where I am) I just go straight to Apple. When I had a samsung I had to shop around to make sure I didn't get ripped off.
This was years ago, we found an iPod in the mall parking lot. We ended up figuring out how to use it and loved it. Then the iPod touches came out and my husband got me one and again I loved it. It was basically the phone without the phone part anyway so when my husband and I quit smoking many years ago we bought ourselves our first iPhones as rewards and never looked back.
Reliability and functionality. My iPhone is a phone, it’s a tool. Tools must be reliable and functional. My iPhone does everything what a smartphone should do and it does a great job at it.
Because every thing is better on iphone .
because of how good the camera is without trying, and fast focus
i don't like iOS that much and i also don't like android both are stupid in some an crazy in another
last OS i liked was Win7 and Android 5
Its trendyzThe looks you re cool and dont bring the BS that they never have issues and it just works.
Once the rest of the family went with apple and I got apple computer, there is no turning back
Because it “just works”. I started in iPhone with the first one in 2007. Got it on launch day. And it’s just what I use, and always get the new ones. I usually upgrade for the new camera. I’ve had android phones along the way too, just to try them. There has always been something with Android OS that just feels “clunky”. I dunno. I like Android OS, but overall, it’s just not for me full-time.

I used Samsung smartphones for 9 years, but in 2020 I got an iPhone and migrated into the Apple ecosystem (iPad, MacBook). Apple devices haven’t so far left me in trouble, they “just work”. The reliability keeps me in the ecosystem. Everything works and I feel safe. I have Galaxy A53 as my second phone and it has already left me in trouble for a few times: a few apps didn’t work like they should, while on the iPhone I never got a problem.
-
I’m not a fan of Windows or Ubuntu anymore, and using a MacBook feels very anti-stressing and reliable. I like that. Makes me feel safe.
-
It’s important to me to get the latest security updates as fast as possible on all my devices.
-
I love how it feels like to hold an iPhone in your hand. They really do pay attention to little details.
-
Privacy/security. Advanced Data Protection. I’m not a fan of Google anymore, and I don’t want to use Google Photos. So far iCloud has met my needs with Advanced Data Protection on. If Android had that, I’d be interested, given how I used to love Samsung phones.
BUT: At least in North Europe where I live, 90% of people I know use an Android. Having an iPhone can be seen here as “snobby”, in my personal circles. Also, I’m not a fan of the Apple prices 😅
Well its not that android phones are not good. I used androids for about 7 years it was until I bought the iphone 6. Iphones have this nice feel to their phones, gives it a premium look and was very small and light (i hate oversized phones btw) compared to androids at the time. And after a few years of using iphone, I actually went back to using android but changed it back to iphone after only 7-8 months of use. Androids hardware wise good and all but, that premium feel iphones give, I, (in my case) just never got from an android.
Because the features of android always seem half assed and are incompatible with each other most of the time.
Years ago, in the Before Times, circa 2010ish, I found the iPhone interface easier to navigate than the Android. I’ve never seen a reason to switch back.
