I switched to apple due to Samsung support being useless. I have loved the ecosystem since
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
I use an S23 Ultra as my primary phone but do have a 13 pro that work pays for and I’m about to upgrade to the 15 PM. I prefer Android’s more open nature and file system and its photo cameras. However I do like the iPhone’s simplicity. It just works most of the time. Also its video camera is just unparalleled. Videos come out so smooth with no lag or jitter that occasionally appears on my Galaxy video camera. I do have a 13 mini for personal use that I sometimes rotate just to change it around.
Better Apps in function & quality
Worked at T-Mobile and saw the amount of returns and issues with android phones.
Grew up with an iPod touch, got a good android phone I liked, was stolen, got a cheap one to replace it, I decided not to buy another android but save up for an iPhone. I even had an iPad at that time. It was 2011, I was 14/15 and bought an iPad 2nd gen. My first iPhone was the 6 in 2014/2015. Until then I saved the money and stuck to my galaxy S III I had since 2012/13.
My pixel 5a broke the week I bought it and I switched to iPhone in a fit of anger
Because the original iPhone had the first usable touchscreen. I liked the user interface and the build quality so when other manufacturers caught up I was already used to iOS and didn’t want to switch.
I have tried Motorola,LG,Samsung,Pixel none have given me the comfort I get from using my iPhone and iPad
Back when I initially moved from android to iPhone, android phones had some issues. Phones take time to receive updates from manufacturer, battery life was an issue, etc..
By the time android figured all this out, I was already knee deep in Apple ecosystem.
Because my girlfriend happened to have an iPhone and she pretty much sold me on it for the cool FaceTime features and FindMy features as well as being able to use iMessage. I was perfectly happy with my Pixel phone before but I’m very much still happy with my iPhone, I don’t regret my choice.
It’s simple, never fails me, not too cluttered or complicated. Sure… Samsungs have all these crazy features and ways to change everything, but I have no desire to do that. I don’t know why people argue about this. It’s just personal preference.
Very good devices but iPhones have become expensive, this may be the last iPhone owned.
I grow up with apple and I just like their designs and software is smooth and crisp. Their iPhones can last many years than android devices. My mom has a computer that is older than me and I’m 21 it doesn’t connect to internet but it turns on and it works. No other device can last more than 20 years. That’s why I use an iPhone.
I'm on Android rn but I'm gonna answer this from my POV back when I switched to iPhone.
I used iPhone cuz I got tired of inconsistencies in design both software and hardware. I want the long term support and the easy warranty process.
I love the ecosystem. I had an Apple Watch, Airpods Pro, Airtags, iPad, Airpods Max, Macbook. Everything is seamless.
I love how some of the apps I love are either exclusive on Apple and/or works best on iPhones.
I love how I can switch to a new iPhone and it'll be as if nothing happened because iCloud backup and restore literally restores 99% of the stuff that I had.
And lastly, all 3 lenses on iPhones have consistent colors and video quality is literally industry leading when it comes to smartphone videography.
UI , looks so clean and refined to me
LG stopped making phones.
Samsung and Google flagships took my headphone jack away. And after 2 years android phones start to have issues with bugs.
Samsung s9+ was my last android... Had been android my whole life. Traded it for a iPhone 12 pro. Just upgraded to iPhone 15 pro max.. never see myself going back to android.
I kinda had no choice my previous Samsung A31 (don’t blame Android, it was a budget phone from 2020) kinda gave up on me after excessive rooting, custom ROMS and going through tough times with it I was handed down a iPhone 6s from my dad (he got a 14 pro max) and I’ve enjoyed the 6s but I do miss Android even though I love iPhones bc they came out the year I was born ;-)
I want a camera that won’t let me down. Apps that should “just work”. Crystal clear audio during calls. Then there’s the ecosystem which is honestly unparalleled.
Oh, and software support that lasts me atleast 4 years.
well it all happened when i recieved an ipod
Because I’ve been using them since 2009 and I’m scared of change. Once upon a time each version was super innovative. Now not so much.
Was iPhone from original to I think iPhone 5 or 6. Switched to pixel line (then galaxy) and loved it. Pixel 2 is probably my fav phone ever purchased. But their damn update busted the camera and I haven’t fixed it (I need to!). My last was the pixel 6 pro. It had serious overheating issues. I could not run the gps and music while on a car mount at the same time or the damn thing would overheat. Hell I couldn’t run just gps on a long road trip because of the overheating issue.
Came time to upgrade and it was a choice between an 8 pro or a 15. I looked at both and the iPhone actually made me excited. Though to be honest I miss the camera on the pixel. So many say the iPhone has a better camera or they are comparable. They aren’t. Sorry google has that in the bag. But everything else I love. I’m happy with this upgrade cycle. Hopefully google gets their heads out of their asses for the next upgrade cycle in two ish years.
Well, I literally picked up a 15 Pro Max 2 days ago and it was mostly curiosity. I had the original iPhone through the 4 then switched to Samsung. I’ve had every Samsung flagship from the Galaxy S2 to the 23 Ultra, sitting next to me as I type this, and I wanted to see what the latest and greatest from Apple could do. So far there’s a lot I like, but there’s definitely pros and cons to both systems.
As of right now, if I had to pick one, I’d probably stick with Samsung, but I’m forcing myself to use the iPhone as my primary because some of my hesitation is familiarity. We’ll see what the future brings, maybe I’ll have an Apple Watch, air pods and a Mac. Maybe I’ll still be Galaxy/Galaxy Watch/Samsung Pro earbuds and a Linux laptop.
I have an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy. I use both: the former for my personal life, the latter for work. The Samsung is more flexible (fewer constraints) and much more integrated with my PC. The Samsung has many small functions useful for work. It is more powerful but a little more complex. The iPhone for my personal life is good. It is simpler and I use fewer apps and less social. My opinion.
my last android flagship made me realized that theres no point in buying the latest and greatest in the android space, it's the same as their cheaper counterparts, same buggy experience, albeit a bit faster.
then I tried iphone and here I am,
Because i use Mac. If i use a windows laptop then i switch to Android.
Because I also have an Apple Watch, iPad, AirPods Pro, and a MacBook Pro. I genuinely benefit to an enormous degree thanks to the ecosystem. I need IT support once every two or three years and it’s usually because I’m trying to fix some Microsoft headache.
• the connectivity to my family and eco system
• most of my peers in real estate use an iPhone and the connectivity is paramount to my job
Because android just doesn’t appeal to me the same way iOS does. Had a Galaxy S5 during peak Samsung touchwiz times as my first real smartphone, worst damn experience ever. Got an iPhone 6s+ when it was the newest and haven’t looked back since. I’m on my 6th iPhone and have loved a majority of what they have done with the OS despite some regression with things such as Siri and some minor gripes with user access ability however the same gripes I have with iOS, are also gripes I have with android plus more.
I wanted a tablet for art, so as an android user, I got an android tablet.
I just KEPT running into dead ends with trying to make art on apps I’d try out on it.
So I looked over at Apple and finally decided to give them a try.
Got myself an ipad, fell in LOVE with creating art on it.
And thus my interest in apple technology was born.
Got an iPhone, then fell in love with productivity apps, and now i have a Mac book.
Sigh, I used to feel superior by not getting apple products. Now look at me…. It’s just more enjoyable when everything’s working together and talking to each other.
I live in an area with limited cell service, but we have internet so I can iMessage even when sms doesn’t work. Also, I have tried android phones and the interface makes me angry.
I've always been an Apple fan, even though I haven't been a Mac user in a long time.
I like the elegance of the iOS interface; I don't want another device to have to troubleshoot.
Also, Apple makes great hardware.
Honestly, the user interface and design is very sleek and simple.
Though that is a double edge sword as many features and customization are left to be desired
The ecosystem.
Everything is designed to be simple and easy to use, comfort is always present and this allows fluidity between all devices which does not exist on Android.
Even when you use HomeKit or other services/devices, everything is designed to be convenient.
Blue chat bubble
Easy to use
My iPhones have had less random issues, and o got an Apple Watch as a gift right when I was due for an upgrade.
Felt like trying it out again after all these years and the 13PM was a good price used.
I just like having different phones and different systems. I use Samsung (main), iPhone, and Pixel
I also have an iPad & a MacBook Air. They work together as a team. I also love the security and the community
iPhone has this smooth experience that is very noticeable, especially when I changed from Android to IOS, the different is like night and day. Also I like the ecosystem, people can talk bs about it but too me it is the best right now, every is just seamless and well optimized.
The moment I switched from Android it was the only flagship with a flat screen.
I know my way around my iPhone.. I don’t wanna learn a new phones format
Every android I owned has been buggy, slow and insanely fragile so i switched to iPhone for simplicity. And they personally hold up better then my android did.
Last time i had an android (2014) I couldn't even load reddit without the damn thing crashing. Constant slowdown and bugs. Don't really have that with every iPhone i've owned, which is about 5-6 different ones now.
Maybe androids are better now but i'm comfortable with iPhone and have no reason to switch, unlike when I switched from Android and had a reason.
I'm gonna be honest. The only reason I use iphone is for iMessage lol. If us Americans weren't so tied to iMessage/if Android had iMessage, then I'd definitely be on Android.
