Messages app- a way to not include a specific sender (or group chat) in the unread messages count. (alien.top)

In iOS messages, I know you can disable alerts/notifications for specific senders (or group conversations), but the number of unread messages from them still shows up in the badge for the app. Is there any way to hide the unread message count just for that specific sender (or group conversation)?
