im sure this is asked all the time but my apple tv remote randomly stopped controlling my tv’s volume and power. (alien.top)

i have a samsung tv with the apple tv plugged right into it’s hdmi. i went through settings and tried syncing it with my remote but that didnt work and i didnt have to do that before it just controlled my tv automatically. not sure is there another way to synch my remote to my samsung tv?

I had kinda of a similar problem, is the remote controlling the TV through HDMI or IR or auto? I had it on auto and it stopped working, but it’s back when I set it on HDMI

I get this sometimes and the only thing that fixes it (until it eventually happens again) is unplugging all HDMI and power, letting things sit for a bit then plugging everything back in.

Try settings on the apple tv, not your tv
