With this win, Fields ties Tyson Bagent’s wins on the season.

With this win, Fields now has more all-time wins than Trubisky’s worse season with the Bears 2020, 6-3), when he missed half of the season due to injury and still somehow made the playoffs.

The worst outcome. Bears win and still no indications Justin Fields is the guy.

[–] dreadpiratew@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He’s fine. He’s not great. That’s probably what he’ll be his whole career. Average qb with some great moments and some bad moments.

Are we throwing a bunch of screens cause they don’t trust Fields to throw? Do the routes take too long to develop? Is Getsy bad? Is Fields bad? Are we in an unfortunate position to make Fields lead a 4th quarter drive in another game we should be winning by a landslide? Does Fields have waaaay too many 4th quarter turnovers regardless of fault?

YES.

How many boring games do you think we've all watched in our lives?

[–] LocationFew1377@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Iowa fan, Bears fan, they're all boring.

Does anyone know where I can get that hoodie Fields was wearing during the press conference?

[–] dreadpiratew@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Could send a letter to him at Halas Hall and ask if you can have it. Otherwise you gotta steal it from his locker during a game, UCLA-recruit style.

It’s amazing to me people are still defending Fields and don’t think we should take a QB with the Panthers pick. Fields is a decent at best QB in this league who will never lead to anything. Go reset the QB clock and take one of these young guys. It seems so obvious to me at this point.

Getsy Employment Watch

Let's sign Danielle Hunter

It’s nice to win a division game and also show how inept our offensive coaching staff is at the same time

[–] CertainDegree2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is kinda the opposite of what we wanted coming in. Lol. We want to see fields ball and the bears still get a high draft pick but tonight's game was the opposite of that.

Oh well, at least the panthers are inept. The bears will likely stumble their way to like 6 of 7 wins

My Vikings fan coworker has to buy me Chipotle because of this. Oh, the sweet taste of victory!

#EAT SHIT FIELDS HATERS, YOU JUST GOT PROVEN WRONG! DOWNVOTE ME ALL YOU WANT, IT’S ANONYMOUS, BUT IT STILL PROVES YOU’RE JUST A SALTY BITCH ABOUT BEING WRONG 🤣🤣🤣

[–] DNastythenasty@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Ok why cant the Fields haters give the guy credit for this: He maybe just pulled out a victory despite being concussed! It probably affected his play negatively, even the announcer noticed on the following plays that Fields was wildly inaccuraty and "looked drunk stumbling around"

So I think its very possible he was concussed, making him slower than normal in processing. But he did enough to win. He should get credit for that, for the toughness shown, instead people are ignoring the fact that there is a possibility he was playing with a concussion

Dumbest fucking win I've ever seen.

[–] cameratoo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The defense blew it against the Lions and they singlehandedly won against the Vikings. My mood is BEARS WIN MOTHERFUCKERS!!

[–] Iffybiz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (7 children)

Thoughts.

  1. Glad to see Justin make a big throw in a clutch situation but those fumbles ouch.

  2. Evidently, Getsy doesn’t know how to call a game against a blitzing team.

  3. Nice win but if their two best offensive players were playing, the Vikes win easily.

  4. Dexter and Sweat are going to be a PROBLEM for offenses going forward. Neither can be blocked by one guy consistently.

  5. Watching the locker room, it looks to me like Poles and Warren really want Eberflus to work out. It may only take another win or two for him to keep his job.

  6. That same locker room looked 100% behind Justin. Baring a complete breakdown the rest of the way, it’s going to need a very hard sell to that group to replace him. Saw no sign of Getsy in the locker room, hope that’s a sign.

  7. This will likely be unpopular but they need an explosive RB next year with both running and receiving ability.

  8. I want Justin to play here at least one more year while they finish building the team. Add at least MHJ and a real OC and if he can’t succeed with that, draft your QB or make a trade for someone like Herbert.

  9. Speaking of Herbert. The Bears have the same number of wins as the Chargers. My guess is they will be HC shopping this offseason too. When the Bears played them, they seemed like a much better team.

[–] TonyWilliams03@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I agree with all except 5.

Flus has been a dead man walking since the Alan Williams debacle.

[–] JulioXstatic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I like point 8, but who knows if qb talent at that level will still be available a draft later

[–] blipsman@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And when we don’t project to have 2 top 5 picks

All week the Fields haters wanted Fields to prove he can put together a game winning drive. And by golly he gets one. And now the narrative changes.

The fumbles were terrible but the playcalling was atrocious. Hard to judge Fields’s game when the game plan is to throw screens all day.

Fields came through in the clutch and that’s all that matters

[–] Fender6187@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Good quarterbacks win bad games dude. That’s an important trait.

[–] FantasticJacket7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I mean, he put together a game winning drive on his second try after fumbling away the first attempt.

It's entirely possible that we never touch to ball again after that fumble.

And yes, it would be hard to judge Fields based on this game alone. Luckily we now have several years worth of mediocre games to judge him on.

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nah first fumble was on Wright and the second should’ve been a penalty

[–] rt0rres@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They rather see Caleb Williams throw screen passes and fumble the ball.

The fact that we still have Field truthers in here after tonight is the most mind boggling thing of all time. Do you watch the games?

I honestly think Getsy is the worst OC in the NFL, which is certainly something. 27 straight screen passes, maybe switch it up a little and throw downfield? Lolll.

[–] stolen_guitar@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I feel so full of... what's the opposite of shame?"

Pride?

No, not that far from shame.

Less shame?

Yeah

Some folks say that on quiet nights, if you listen hard enough, you can still hear Luke Getsy calling screen passes.

Think commentary summed it up well at the end: "well that brings that game to an end....thankfully."

Is it possible to draft an OC?

[–] Matzah_Rella@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

This sub is wild, you’d think we lost the game with some of the shit I’ve been reading. It feels good to win, so enjoy it ya curmudgeony fucks.
