Hoping that we can build off this

When you lose week in and week out you tend to find ways to lose so winnings game they tried hard to give away hopefully helps right the ship

After two late fumbles the last throw to Moore was money. Nice way to close out a game

[–] sounds_like_kong@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That was a ‘drunk regret sex’ of a win if I ever saw one.

[–] Tonkathedog@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That should be the last game Matt Eberflus and Luke Getsy coach for the bears, idgaf it’s a win.

[–] Gloomy_Highlight_763@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Frankly on the dagger throw to Moore it was still a bad throw

[–] WhoopieKush@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Also, I really hated those postgame interview questions for Fields. Basically they were like “what do you think about those fumbles” and “did you play well enough to keep your job?”

GTFOH with those questions. Ask him about the WIN!

[–] Tim217@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Great defensive win! Offense can be better but did enough to win

[–] scal23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Eberflus sucks, but not running a play before the 2 minute warning and then taking knees to force the Vikings to use their timeouts and only leave 10 seconds was expert level clock management.

[–] OkayOpenTheGame@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If we are take anything away from this game, can y'all please finally shut up about how great Fields is? He was complete ass pretty much the whole time.

[–] EstimatedProphet72@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fire Flus and Getsy tonight.

[–] Ssweetness1985@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t think the decision is made but this game has to move the needle more towards moving on from Fields. For sure the play calling was a huge issue tonight but the only reason we needed the comeback drive was two massively costly turnovers from Fields. Turnovers in big spots have become his calling card, and that isn’t Luke Getsy’s fault.

[–] Sabiancym@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Remember when Fields played well in losing games and critics claimed the only thing that matters is winning? Somehow I'm guessing they won't be saying the same thing after this game. Now it'll somehow be about stats.

Some of you have no concept of how much coaching matters.

[–] MitchTrubiskyFan10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That win is like having sex with a prostitute. Yeah we won but it did more harm than good.

[–] MisterChiTown92@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Eberflus looked Eber….competent tonight, outside of the horrible challenge, not used to this

[–] radondude@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm coining a new term: "demoralizing win"

[–] slayer7342@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Today I realize that I hate losing more than I like winning

Getsy’s playcalling is horrific not just because of how bad it is to watch, but how difficult it makes it to assess the QB if you refuse to throw past the sticks

I’m gonna celebrate this W, y’all are miserable lol nothing satisfies you guys

[–] CubsBearsIlliniBulls@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Genuine question: for those of you who want Fields gone but don’t want Caleb Williams, what do you want the Bears to do?

I personally think there’s a little too much groupthink with Williams right now and I think he’ll be a really good NFL QB.

[–] In-the-bunker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

4 Turnovers, and no TDs. MN missing their top 10 QB and the best WR in the league. That QB was replaced by a guy who is on his 3rd team this year! Probably lost out on the 4th pick. (probably Harrison) Doesn't seem like much to celbrate

[–] nogimmick@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

DJ is so damn good. Roschonn pushing Kmet for the first was nice. Would’ve liked to see Kmet stay involved a bit more. Once again didn’t stick with a successful run game consistently. D was fucking awesome overall, they are starting to click.

[–] skinnypancake@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Justin Fields leads a game winning drive, yet we’re all less sold on him. Just as we predicted.

[–] Glittering_Seat_7294@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ugh now we can’t fire our coaching staff because we got a win

[–] yabo69420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I need a cigarette after that one.

[–] lkn240@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This year has to be the end of Flus, Getsy and Fields.

Fields did finally hit a throw on 3rd down, but 1st and 2nd down were horrific. Running around like a chicken with it's head cut off not seeing open receivers - which happened far too often tonight. We are very lucky he didn't get sacked again there.

I really like the kid, but he's just not a good QB - it sucks, but we have to move on.

I swear y'all forgot how to be happy for a win sure it was ugly as hell but we beat the damn Vikings

[–] WarrenMulaney@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Blah blah blah.

We won. Vikes lost.

That’s it. I’m going to enjoy it. Some of you sandy vags need a beer or 7.

A lot of people on this sub have a loser mentality. Fuck losing. We can depend on the Panthers for that.

[–] FickleFred@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They’re obviously not going to fire Flus but they HAVE to fire Getsy this week with the bye. This is beyond unacceptable and it was on display for the national audience today. How are you going to properly evaluate your qb when he’s asked to throw 30 screens a game? Just horrendous playcalling

[–] Anthony-Meadow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Alex is losing his patience lol

The hilarious irony is that if Jordan Love played like Justin Fields, this entire sub would scream and laugh at Packers fans claiming he's a bust, and yet some people can't get their heads out of their asses. Hitting a wide open Moore in busted coverage doesn't mean shit, because this sub blew their gasket claiming Jordan Love was not good after playing the Bears Week 1

I've been on board with JF this whole time and tried to be the apologist, but c'mon, man. Protect the ball, that's #1. I think I've finally given up on him.

[–] GlitteringAd1736@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Justin Fields had a higher completion percentage than Joshua Dobbs. Before tonight I would say some of us wished we had a passer like Dobbs. Maybe some of still do. Average stats show we are one of the worst passing defenses in the league. If tonight was an indication of what to expect, we have a better passer.

Fields haters in shambles after he orchestrates a 4th Q 2 min game winning drive under the bright Monday night lights

I'm surprised to see Fields had 317 total yards. He seemed to have a bad game, and yes the TOs were bad, but that's a solid offensive output.

[–] Critical-Adhole@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Just put my daughter to bed and as I was saying goodnight she said “I fucking hate luke getsy”

[–] BeneficialBee1716@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anybody crying about winning and losing theoretical draft positions, please stfu

[–] Sal_Barrone@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If they run the table the playoffs aren’t out of the question. They can still win the division.

[–] Penguinkeith@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

100 yard day for Moore

[–] ChicagoDreamTeam@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Great win. Now Flus and Getsy are coming back next year.

[–] CherryCokeSlurpee@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Love the Sweat signing. The whole D seems more energized since he's been here. Actually getting pressure is real nice to see

[–] BeneficialBee1716@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Dexter, Pickens and Terrell all had very good games for rookies

[–] themesrob@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The number of Redditors who come on here just to shit on fields regardless of the game outcome or stat line or anything else is truly impressive. The hate is real.

[–] Monkeyb1z@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Thoughts on this offseason:

  1. Drake Maye at 1
  2. Ola Fashanu at 4 and have the best OL in the NFL
  3. Edge in 2nd round, build DL depth in the 3rd and 4th
  4. Tee Higgins at 5/120
  5. Michael Pittman at 4/55
  6. Jaylon Jones at 4/65
  7. Demote Eberflus to Defensive Coach and let him build continuity with this Defense
  8. Bring in Harbaugh as HC
  9. Steal Ben Johnson away as OC
[–] Silly-Payment7864@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How does this win feel like a lost. I even took the ml on the Bears . Still not happy, because I know we are starting over yet again.

[–] feeschedule@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I am as angry as this goddamn team as I would have been if they lost this game. That's embarrassing

[–] Mr-Dotties-Dad@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Why can’t Fields win in the 4th!? Oh wait, not like that!! Fuck him!!

I hate this fandom so much. God i hate all of you stupid bitches.

Fields still is awful in crunch time. We didn't learn anything, he just continues to prove that he's not the guy and not clutch.

2 fumbles in the most inopportune times. He's been a fumble machine his whole career. He's lucky the Vikings are so ass that he got 3 chances to get one fucking FG.

[–] lyme6483@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Defense deserved that game. They played amazing all day. There is no way anyone can come away with that and feel good about Fields.

Williams or Maye will be QB1 next year. Poles isn’t trading the Panthers pick again.

[–] robbing_banks@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Good to see Fields bounce back after those two fumbles and finally deliver a big time throw. If this was the last game of the year, you draft a qb without hesitation. But there’s some more football to be played so hopefully now that he’s gotten that monkey off his back, he can ball out and make Poles’s decision very difficult.

For what it’s worth, with the way the defense has played the past few weeks and with every indication the team is buying in, Im willing to bet Flus is back next year barring a major meltdown.
