IMPORTANT

Please do not post the "good friend" or similar copypasta

==========

Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

On the other hand, he didn't get two of his limbs chopped off and end up thrown into a pit of lava a short time later, requiring him to spend the rest of his life in an armored suit. So maybe the incest was worth it?

Look at Darth Vader. I stand by my statement.

[–] Zellith@kbin.social 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That just activated a long supressed and forgotten part of gaming history. At one point in Final Fantasy XI, you could get a really powerful sword from a dragon. Someone once asked "Would you fuck your sister for a Ridill". Not everyone said no... I might be getting the phrasing of the question wrong since it was 10+ years ago. I tried googling but nothing came up.

I could be wrong, but I read someone else’s comment years ago that said the suit was like that on purpose and it was a way for the emperor to control him or something.

Anyway, that might not even be canon even if it’s in some book or game.

Number of younglings slain:

Luke - 0
Anakin - Numerous

[–] RGB3x3@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

"Master Skywalker, there are too many of them. What are we going to do?"

"We're gonna SIIING!"

[–] altima_neo@lemmy.zip 44 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Luke at 22: Jedi Master

Anakin at 22: ...

[–] mack7400@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago

Bet Anakin had power converters, though.

[–] zeekaran@sopuli.xyz 44 points 2 years ago

Luke at 22: Blew up the Death Star

Kinda big thing to not include

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 26 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Tbf, they both made out with a princess, and while Anakin mostly farmed bots for exp Luke's actual KDA was amazing.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 23 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Did the death star have a daycare? If so, he got anakin beat on younglings slaughtered too.

[–] ericisshort@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I don’t think so. The Death Star was a military vessel, and spouses/children don’t usually don’t get to come along on those sorts of things. Having said that, maybe there would be some children on if there was some sort of christening celebration or school field trip on board at the time of the attack.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 14 points 2 years ago (4 children)

No, it's canon there were families on board. It was simply too large to be anything but a city in space.

[–] Alivrah@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yeah but they were evil so it doesn't count /s

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 5 points 2 years ago (5 children)

No /s necessary, you live in something called The Death Star, a weapon fresh from killing a planet, and you're officially the eggs in the anti-evil omelette.

It's an installation - a miltary base. Guarantee the workers had family spaces / on base housing in it. Considering the size of it, whole cities worth of people.

[–] teft@startrek.website 5 points 2 years ago

Bode from Jedi Survivor keeps his kid at an ISB base so it's not outside the realm of reason.

Anakin lost to Obi Wan so I'm not sure how you can consider him the strongest Jedi.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 19 points 2 years ago (2 children)

He lost because he was arrogant, not because he was weak. That's the entire point of the "it's over Anakin, I have the high ground" thing.

Even the strongest Jedi is no match for the High Ground.

He destroyed the Death Star and rescued a princess. Those seem notable.

[–] SirStumps@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I mean, compare them at 23 next.

I had a friend that "trained" french kissing on her brother. She told me this when we were +25 like it was super nornal and one of the pluses of having a brother (he was 1 year young only, so he wasn't being abused. They were just like this)

These are the dangers of exposing kids to Star Wars too early.

aww you're so sweet thx

[–] LeafOnTheWind@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Be the sister fucker you want to see in the world. Don't let your memes be dreams.

[–] stebo02@sopuli.xyz 6 points 2 years ago

thank you, I will go look for a sister then

[–] brothershamus@kbin.social 15 points 2 years ago (5 children)

Kids - listen to me. There's only ONE star wars movie. The rest are fan-made films that are fun but meaningless. Don't get confused.

[–] TheDoozer@lemmy.world 19 points 2 years ago

The Star Wars Holiday Special with the Ewoks?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

That's an odd way to spell Space Balls..

[–] BigBananaDealer@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago

the clone wars movie?

Ahem, he was also bulls-eyeing womp rats in his T-16.

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 13 points 2 years ago

Anakin at 22 will be a father in the future.

lol

[–] dQw4w9WgXcQ@lemm.ee 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

"Future father" is the glass half-full version of "former child".

[–] QwertySpace@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

I suppose "expecting father" is probably the more accurate phrase

[–] Bonehead@kbin.social 12 points 2 years ago (2 children)

The "General" part doesn't really count since all Jedi were automatically commissioned with high ranks during the war. Ahsoka was a Commander at 16, leading troops into battle while still a padawan.

[–] sukhmel@programming.dev 7 points 2 years ago

What matters is how it's going to look on the résumé, not why you got the position 🌚
