Today I went to Bunnings to buy something and I asked the cashier lady how she was.

She was genuinely surprised that I asked and told me barely anyone ever asks how she is.

That made me very sad to hear that, I also wished her a good day too for good measure but to that was how people engage with her at her job makes me sad.

Also I ran after an empty shopping bag that blew out of someone trolley as they were crossing the a road strip with waiting traffic.

Good deeds done for the day.

Just got a call from my cousin who I'd be spending xmas with, xmas is now significantly scaled down as most of her in laws have made other plans - secretly super relieved it's gone from a 11-person thing to 5, and they're all people I know. Far out I feel like a weight has lifted...

More pudding and custard for you.

Now I’ve been asked how to burn a CD. These time warps are disorienting.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 4 points 2 years ago

Bring out an old rotary dial telephone and witness the confusion.

My kid has confiscated our cds and refers to them as "her collection".

Real problem at work. I needed to read a cd rom, everybody is on laptops without drives. Poor planning.

It doesn't look pretty but it sure was tasty.

Miss Meow is being very restless this afternoon, which I think means a storm could be on the way. Or maybe she just wants dinner early, it's hard to tell.

What a bunch of fucking weirdos. This has turned from a buffet breakfast to now they want you to perform magic. I don't want anything except for you to have a great day bacon.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Tuesday's just hit like that sometimes. The happy glow of the weekend has worn off and you are staring down the long dark tunnel of the rest of the week without being able to see any light at the end. Once we hit hump day and we can start to see a glimmer of aproaching light people's mental health will start to improve and we should start to see some more normal breakfast orders again.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The thing is people think they are special. There's a perfectly good buffet on offer. Stop holding up the line with your "I'll have one of everything, flame grilled over an Olympic torch bullshit". Choose something then piss off.

Dialling back my insane sleep schedule starting tonight. No more going to bed at 5am... Starting at 2am and working backwards to 9pm.

Also, have been going out the last 3 weeks with friends on the weekend. I'm emboldened to go out by myself this Saturday. I wonder how it'll go. Worth a shot anyway. Like my mate says "nothing ventured, nothing gained".

I'm so middle age that you know that feeling after you do "the deed" on a hot summers night and you've got that warm physical exhaustion but your feeling pretty stoked that it was a job well done? Yeah, I just got that feeling from mowing the lawn on my lunch break.

after ~2 weeks of sleeping through the night this sudden return to several wake ups a night is BRUTAL. I know he is just teething and it wont last forever, but man I am tired.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Comfort him a lot. Being comforted reduces anxiety and pain. It will also help him sleep.

And pain meds too of course.

I cannot stress enough, babies and little children can't get too many cuddles

I have now served the two month waiting period for my new Health Insurance fund, with still no sign of the Clearance Certificate from my old health fund - which they are legally required to provide within two weeks.

I decided in honour of the occasion to send a letter to a few MPs, given that the whole fund seems to be having a meltdown and be unable to actually provide all of its members with the cover they are paying for. The government partially funds and props up the whole system they really should at least try to make sure that the funds are fulfiling their obligations.

Ok… I did not anticipate viewing 3D printed spider genitalia today

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)

That's disgusting. I'm not into that kind of thing but the deviants on here might appreciate a pic and a detailed description.

Google Maria Fernanda Cordosa giant replica spider cock

They’d probably appreciate a few pictures from different angles

MissGod is listening to Bob Dylan and watching Jeopardy like some weird mini-Boomer lol.

She’ll probably start calling me a slacker soon.

Finally got round to watching The Flash movie.

I am not surprised. Just disappointed. Again.

Highlights: Keaton, Kara (really well handled & great shots in costume), "Come on Barbie".

Not even a bangin' soundtrack.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't even bother watching superhero movies anymore

I reckon the person who came up with toast just had a loaf of stale bread. Cost of living and all. Up there for thinking.
