i think the physical iphone is basically stagnated at this point. add slightly better cameras, a slightly faster chip, maybe increase battery life every year. that’s the new iphone. the more drastic changes will have to come in terms of ios.

i suspect this means artificial limitations in the future, to edge you towards getting the new model though, which is kind of annoying

It could attempt to have a decent front camera instead of whatever it’s had for years.

  1. 7inch screen, bevel-less(no need for a foldable iphone coz that is still pocketable yet big enough)
  2. Enhanced battery life
  3. Scheduled messaging
  4. Capacity to run full macOS when paired to screen like Samsung does
  5. Sideloading

They could start fixing the PWM issue with their OLED panels! Many many users can not upgrade further their iPhone 11 as all OLED iPhones cause them eyestrain, migraine, vertigo and fatigue! Horrible!!!

Tbh I love Apple but what I like about Android is how open is for costumization, I used to have ipods and an iPhone 6s which where all jailbroken, I loved jailbreak so much, I could do anything with it, if Apple could do something or open their devices to be able to costumize them a little bit more like I used to when I was jailbroken, honestly I would never change phones or brand, Apple is a little expensive for me but if I could do all that I wouldnt doubt choosing Apple again

Won’t be good until the notch and island are gone.

Well, being able to put app icons and widgets anywhere on the fucking home screen i want would make the iPhone leaps and bounds better than it is now. That one single change.

Mute switch instead of the new button

5 apps per row on homescreen would be nice

[–] Norio22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Especially on the larger models. We should also be able to resize our keyboards.

When Apple will make a foldable iPhone, where the folding screen is basically an iPad, it can run iPad apps, multi apps in the same screen…, and they do something like Dex on Samsung, but having MacOS!

That would be indeed the ultimate device

A lot after the last “update”. 17.1.1 turned my new iPhone into a POS.

A LOT! I’m glad I switched from Android recently but there’s a lot that Android can do that the iPhone doesn’t

I want the magic eraser feature and the one that knocks out All noise that is shown on one of the new Google phones ads.

I want a resizable Media player widget. Don’t just have it take up half the bottom screen on the Lock Screen.

Better voice to text

It's so much worse than android

[–] Seetheren03@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If you use google voice, you can screen calls by having the person say their name before you answer so you know who is calling.

Now we finally have USB-C. I want to be able to run macOS from my iPhone while docked

[–] YaBoyASalz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m waiting on the flip iPhone

[–] ScottShimamotoComic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Playing nice in the sandbox with Microsoft so we can do stuff like texting through our computers in imessage mode instead of apps like "T-Mobile Digits" that kind of work, but definitely have some weakenesses. At least Apple went to USB-C to be more industry standard.

Redesign control center.

See what the new technology is on Androids and expect it in future generations

My volume only adjusts when Spotify is open half of the time… and Siri straight up doesn’t work. Like at all, she won’t do anything. Just says she can’t help with that.

A way for people to learn about what their phone can do. Most people I know don’t watch WWDC or the Apple Keynotes and won’t know about announced features unless they’re prominently featured in a commercial or a power user shows them.

I asked my dad (early 60s, fairly tech-savvy) to measure a box for me using the Measure app, which he wasn’t aware of. He’s been an iPhone user for a long time and upgrades every few years. Short of me telling him I doubt he would have found it. Same with AirDrop, Widgets, and shuffling/disabling his home screens. Shortcuts blew his mind.

iOS is more capable than ever but the intuitiveness that made iPhones great for the young and old alive has disappeared.

Fix the darn keyboard volume that sometimes goes crazy They could make sharing photos with an Android natively built in... i have to have installed software to share them with my girlfriend and friends. And allow some apps to run in background. I have a huawei watch and it keeps loosing sync. If I hand an apple watch it would work no problem but the 1day battery thing tottaly sucks. The huawei watch is 2years old and still holds for 14 days
