Is there a way the subtitles can be put inside the black bars when watching something in cinemascope? I know that Apple streaming services do not stream black bars (probably to save bitrate) and it seems that the downside of it is that the software can't access the area beyond the picture information.

When I watch something via Infuse subtitles will always be placed inside the black bars if there are any. In addition to that their readability are much better, since they are bigger and wider (Apple's medium size is to small and big size is to big for my taste). I also don't understand why Apple utilizes so many returns in the text instead of using the whole width of the screen.

It is incomprehensible to me that a company so keen on delivering the best viewing experience have so poor accessibility settings.

Yes, you can. It’s somewhere in system preferences. Not sure where, did that years ago, but google it
