Gonna admit, I initially read that as "abortionist" and was incredibly confused.

$100/hr standard rate

$150 if you watch

$200 if you help

$250 if you worked on it first

[–] Psionicsickness@reddthat.com 16 points 2 years ago

Me too! I thought this was some heavy pro choice satire and was REALLY confused.

CAUTION: FLYING TOOLS & OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE LIKELY

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 28 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Actually I think we all understand how you solve it

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 20 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Yeah pretty much just using a saw to cut branches at their base until there's one nice vertical one and strongly attached lateral ones. Easily understood in the space of... 30 seconds-ish?

[–] the_itsb@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Not at all defending this ridiculous blanket, but I think you're conflating "tree trimmer" with "arborist," and they're not the same. Tree trimming is also slightly more complicated than that, if you enjoy keeping your skull intact.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That also depends on the municipality. I'm going for my ISA certification and I'm on the scientific side of arboriculture where phytopathology/entomology/physics are all advanced elements requiring more than just that certification. But here every single person who works on a tree needs to be an ISA arborist. Even the shittiest tree trimmers are either certified or are hired with the possibility of certification in like 6mo, and the only professional difference between them and I is that I'm testing for climbing/risk assessment/municipal specialist certs which make me a more expensive arborist.

Ohhhhhhhhh 🤦 didn't realize you were shitting on your own occupation, sorry about that

They also treat diseases via chemicals or by realising insects.

We need one of these quilts for the dudes who fuck cop wives.

Conservatives will turn literally anything into a "culture war" identity.

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh they dont even make these themselves? Isn't that the point of a patchwork quilt?

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago

They don't like to get their hands dirty.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 15 points 2 years ago

Holy shit this is pathetic

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

To be fair, it’s likely an AI drop shipping clothes made by Chinese factories. But the fact they’re so prevalent means conservatives are buying them anyway

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 20 points 2 years ago

Taking the ugly-ass designs from one of those automatically generated T-shirt sites (you know the kind, the ones who advertise "Don't mess with a CLAIMS ADJUSTER who was born in AUGUST" stuff on Facebook) and making quilts out of them is galaxy-brain level.

I do kind of love this one: https://cdn.brightroomy.com/media/07-2021/there-is-no-such-thing-as-too-many-skull-fleece-blanket-dhc14111192vt-0.jpeg

Also yes, they do indeed have a pharmacy technician one: https://brightroomy.com/pharmacy-technician-sherpa-fleece-blanket/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFrldAFwa9Fv-GpatP_LGhmq_QvaFB2KkaFCxhrC-g_y21UpTRxeFKxoCc_MQAvD_BwE

Foucault's stupid floppy boomerang. The aesthetics of colonial exploitation will rebound and consume all jobs in the imperial core. We will all be flagfucking reactionaries whose personality and masculinity are tied to whatever job we have.

the worker has been reduced to an extremely niche commodity ecosystem

The single vertical brown line without competition for canopy space.

[–] HexbearGPT@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Bitter much? Hahaha brainworms

How much you wanna bet she is an arborist business owner who hasn’t climbed a tree in like 20 years and just does paperwork and phone calls all day?

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Nah I've seen this base image before, this is 100% one of those "edit your own designs onto this image to show potential customers" templates. Check out how straight the lines are, especially along the bottom, despite all the curves and folds of the quilt. As tacky as this is it's no more real than those stock images of white dudes wearing "I'm a sassy black woman" shirts.

[–] HexbearGPT@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

The simulacrum has taken over. debord-tired

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 years ago

Is this some new political compass?

[–] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

This is definitely a photoshop job.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago

I thought this had something to do with pro life activism

I can't tell if someone actually made that design or if they just forced a computer to have nightmares about everything people could possibly form an identity around.

edit: Also, I like that it's specifically the 23rd anniversary of Everybody Loves Raymond, 1996-2019. I need this as a full set of bedding and furniture covers.
