Only wired.

I absolutely love the Apple MagSafe battery pack.
Having it manage charging for me is great.
Really hoping they make a new one!

MagSafe on trips, at my desk, or with my Belkin MagSafe battery. Wired everywhere else.

Usually when I’m on a trip I just find it more convenient to use the MagSafe puck, or if I’m hanging out at my desk, that’s easier to use and have the phone propped up. The battery pack is also convenient on the go since it just snaps on, has a kickstand, and an extra USB port for any other accessories.

Wired everywhere else because I always had lightning cables lying around at various lengths. Now with USB-C, not only do I have one everywhere but pretty much everywhere I go, someone’s bound to have one. Plus my CarPlay isn’t wireless.

Well i typically charge my iphone with a cable. it’s faster and whatnot. My aunt got me a magsafe charger for my birthday and my mom got me airpods for my birthday, and i don’t even bother using the cable for the airpods. I just pop them on the magsafe and leave them alone while i get ready for the day or while i game.

Magsafe for the iphone is a little slow for my liking (or maybe it was just my thick otter box at first) but i’m gonna get an anker 3 in 1 soon and then leave it on while i sleep

aren't magsafe and wireless the same?

MagSafe on a wooden stand by Toast. Gives a nice earth aesthetic. Also the walnut finish matches my desk. https://www.toastmade.com/products/magsafe-charger-stand-solid-hardwood.html

In the car, I’m always wired but I’m on a 15P and the rest of the family is on 14P so having to switch cables when I get in and out of the car is annoying.

Wired. MagSafe in the car.

[–] Revolvenge@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

MagSafe from ESR with Cryoboost

[–] ipse_dixit_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Belkin power boost for fast charging phone, watch and AirPods.

[–] late2thepauly@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Waiting for a longer MagSafe. But thinking the charging tech might not be there for a longer cord.

So I’m wired at night (StandBy) and at my desk with those cheap metal stands from Amazon.

[–] Nexus1111@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

MagSafe on a stand. Haven’t used a cable once

[–] WhosCandicexD@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wired or MagSafe, mostly MagSafe because its so convinient. I have my Stand were i can charge my Apple Watch, my AirPods and my iPhone. Thats so satisfying when you come home from work, and you can just sit on your desk and put all your stuff to charge it, and you know that now its relax time

Simple 5W charger on my 14, don't like destroying my battery

[–] No_Importance_5000@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I used to be a wired fan with my Oneplus but now I use wireless magsafe and have a charger I got from Amazon which does phone watch and headphones. Made for Magsafe and is about 7.5W and I just leave my phone on overnight when it needs charging which is every 2 days for me

[–] Dubya_Tea_Efff@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wireless everywhere unless I’m at my desk and I need my phone for some reason. I’m getting another Anker cube soon though, so should be wireless everywhere soon.

Currently plugged into a 10 footer. Wired gang stand up.

[–] chocolatehandsoap@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I bought a MagSafe stand to use at night (Standby/Alarm Clock). I use wired when I'm lounging, watching videos. Wireless charging pad when I'm at work/my desk.

ZikeTech MagSafe. All of the benefits of MagSafe, none of the negative effects (overheating the phone and battery).

[–] Empty-Swing@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I use magnetic adapter in my charging port

[–] Particular_Emu_7394@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wireless but the Anker brick is fast

[–] CivilMathematician78@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I use ESR MagSafe 3 in 1 charger stand

[–] OkGrass2315@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wired. Wireless is a gimmick people convince themselves of it’s usefulness

[–] new_tanker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I've fully adopted MagSafe except for the car, which is wired., as I had heard CarPlay doesn't work with MagSafe (though I don't have CarPlay in mine).

Rather than use Apple's OEM MagSafe, I've purchased a bunch of these third party chargers. They're just as good, have a longer cable, and an option for how you connect (USB-A or USB-C). Oh and they're also easier on the wallet.

[–] ExtrapolatedData@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wired. I haven’t tried MagSafe yet, and my Pop Socket is too big for the one wireless charger I have to work very well.

[–] SmiteIke@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

MagSafe probably 99% of the time.

Anker 7.5 watt MagSafe at night. Don't need anything faster since it's on the charger for 7-8 hours. Apple official MagSafe w/ mount in the truck (pairs great with wireless CarPlay)

In my purse--oops, I meant my "Every Day Carry Cross Body Sling"--I keep an Anker Nano Power Bank and man do I love this little thing. 30 watt output for full speed charging with a built in USB C cable and 10,000 mah capacity. Great for a quick top off of the battery. Anker Nano 511 30 watt charger if I need/want to plug into an outlet.

MagSafe on the Anker Cube at night and wired for CarPlay.

[–] AbbeyRoadMoonwalk@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I just got an Anker cube. Pricey, but I do love it.

[–] Kitten-Mittons@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

the only place I use MagSafe is in the car with wireless CarPlay lol

[–] Atosl@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Same . I want a second cube for my other desk . It looks so clean to have your phone there while working

Both magsafe and wireless for me.

[–] 0000GKP@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The charging port on my phone broke in 2021. I don't know what it would have cost to get it repaired, but I'm certain it would have been more than the cost of the 3 Anker wireless charging pads that I bought for $45. I charged wirelessly for the next 2 years because that's the only way I could do it. After I got a new phone with a functional charging port, I did not see any good reason to give up the convenience of wireless charging. I doubt I'll ever go back.

If you are content to charge at 7.5w, then get the Anker 313 wireless charging pads. They work great and they are dirt cheap. There is a new wireless charging standard now (Qi2) and new chargers supporting that standard should be coming out any time now. Current Qi chargers are limited to 7.5w and don't have magnets. The new Qi2 chargers will be 15w with magnets, so very similar to Apple's MagSafe charger.

I am nearly 100% MagSafe.

[–] falconsfan1988@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wired always.

[–] EddieJay5@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

magsafe. my port went to shit.

[–] tman2damax11@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Magsafe at home, have a handful of chargers where I most commonly set my phone down, I never have to think twice about charging my phone, when it's set down, it's charging. Have a cable in my car as I need it for carplay.

[–] alecdvnpt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I have a wireless charger on my bedside table. Will probably eventually replace it with a MagSafe charger and dock if and when it breaks. MagSafe would make lining it up in the dark a lot easier.

[–] NastyCherryStan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

i bought a cheap magsafe from shein, cut the wire off and just charge with a wired but have a magsafe stand

[–] razrielle@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wired, noticed my phone got super hot when charging wirelessly. Not sure if it was my charger or not.

[–] surSEXECEN@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wireless in the car, wired in the house.
