They were so close to figuring it out at the end of last season. Just needed a decent QB lol now where are we

[–] EggsAndBeerKegs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Saleh is the walking definition of sunk cost fallacy

[–] msto3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fire Saleh. Not addressing backup QB immediately when Rodgers went down and wasting all that talent on both sides of the ball is inexcusable

[–] swalsh21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is embarrassing

[–] Fishooked@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I am officially sticking with not watching any more games this season.

[–] tremendousaurus@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So they replaced Zack Wilson with Zack Wilson who can’t run or escape pressure. Hmmmm

[–] pghgreatest@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Call up kapernick

[–] joebos617@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

on one hand our tank is so fucking over, on the other it'll be a comfort still having an active link to the Brady era

[–] runningblack@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (6 children)

I mean, the Jets are clearly tanking at this point. But why bother signing Siemian (who has been better than either of the Jets healthy QBs his entire career in the NFL) if you're not going to play him?

Trevor Siemian playing from week 2 on probably has this team in playoff contention. Hell, there are a bunch of QBs, several of which were available, that were all clearly better than Boyle (and Wilson, but especially Boyle) that could've kept the season afloat.

Like the Jets just haven't done anything to try to improve the offense once Rodgers went down. They didn't go out and try to bring in new OL. They didn't improve at QB. They just acted like the offense as-is was sufficient, despite all the mounting evidence that it wasn't.

Unless it was an ownership directive (and even then) I really think the whole org gets canned at the end of the season.

The win week 1 staved off a lot of this criticism, and probably ultimately did a disservice to the team as a whole.

Do y‘all think they will keep their jobs? Rodgers will come back next season and they still have their first rounder and could get another good WR. Fixing that O-line will be tough though.

[–] Bobblefighterman@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He really was battling out there. Too bad it was against his own team.

This team is so incompetent it's crazy

[–] test-besticles@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This can only be explained as a team being so competent at being incompetent. So in a weird roundabout way they the jets are extremely good at being bad

The real crime was not getting a better backup QB in the off-season

We already knew from last year that Zach Wilson is mega ass

It's wild to think that if the Jets weren't so busy stroking Aaron's ego, they could have added a competent QB to replace him by week 2. Even just top 25 QB play, they're likely fighting for the division title. Such a wasted season for them.

[–] Obvious_Parsley3238@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Such a wasted season for them.

it was wasted as soon as rodgers went down. if they got dobbs or wentz they might win 9 games, squeak into the playoffs, and lose in the wildcard. they should have gone all in on the tank

what a nostalgic season...

[–] squeeze_and_peas@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Doesn’t matter who you trot out when the offense line is garbage.

[–] GiovannisPersian@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I am official off the Saleh hype train

To be fair to Tim Boyle, it wasn’t his fault Holland returned a 99 yard interception return for a TD. Plenty of other players could’ve and should’ve made that tackle..pathetic.

The coaching staff is dogshit

[–] JeremyJammDDS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is what we call waiving the white flag. What part of anything Tim Boyle has done in his surprisingly long nfl career would make anyone think, “gosh, we can win with this guy?”

[–] iced1777@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (5 children)

I was rewatching Band of Brothers last night and there's a scene where a private admits to his lieutenant that he hid during battle because he was afraid. The lieutenant responds with something along the lines of "all of this gets easier once you accept that there is no hope, you're already dead"

Whole lot of Jets fans out there that could use the same advice. This season is dead as a doorknob and you still have people losing their shit and stressing out over whether Tim Boyle or Trevor Semian plays the next game...

Seriously, what did Trevor Siemian do to Robert Saleh? There's no way he's worse than Tim Boyle

[–] Dethloke@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

When pressed as to why, Saleh shrugged and said “What the fucks the difference.” At least in my head thats what happened

[–] Garak_The_Tailor_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He's circled us on the calendar and is getting Qarons boy ready for a Tommy Divito like performance

[–] RustyNipples35@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Idk how this man’s seat isn’t getting hot after letting Rodgers role play GM, not having ANY back up plan if their soon-to-be 40 year old QB doesn’t get hurt, and then sitting on his hands when a back plan was actually needed

[–] OsikFTW@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Sorry to jets fans, but they still miss the playoffs if rodgers is healthy, he is an all time great but he cant block for himself, their oline is awful AND injured...

[–] StefonDiggsHS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nepo hire as your starting QB is fucking insane to me

[–] Fruit_Rollup_King@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

"The beatings will continue until morale improves."

[–] Cicero912@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bruh Trevor Siemian isnt good but he can atleast move an offense (before losing the game)

[–] BarKnight@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Captain Saleh: "We've struck an iceberg and the ship is sinking...as you know the Captain always goes down with the ship"

Tim Boyle: "You are a brave man, sir"

Robert Saleh: "So, that is why I am making you Captain of this team. Go luck to you"

[–] anotherorphan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Saleh is the perfect embodiment of the this is fine meme

[–] Mangolden_Corral@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brock Bowers come on down!

[–] Art-RJS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly I think he tried to execute the system as prescribed better than Zack could, just because Wilson is more likely to break the pocket and scramble

[–] the-bladed-one@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Bro, just start Wilson, it’s not like people are gonna want to watch Tim fucking Boyle

Wilson at least won you games this season that you had no real business winning.

IF Saleh gets fired it’s for decisions like this. Well really his decision to stay with Wilson after Rodgers went down.
