Why is the background noise on my side so loud for the person I’m talking to over earbuds? (alien.top)

I’ll pick up a plastic bag or something that isn’t loud at all and it’s apparently ear piercing to the other person I’m on the phone with and this only seems to happen while wearing my earbuds. I’ve tried different earbuds and I seem to have the same issue. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it? I have a new iPhone 14 btw.
