Hi guys,

I have the issue that my Apple TV Remote Gen2 (Lightning) stops sending IR Signals after some days. All other functionalities work as expected but just the IR features (Volume Up, Volume Down, Mute) stop working.

I then need to reset the Remote by pressing the button combination and then it works again After 4-5 days however IR stops working again.

Anyone experience the same issue and/or has a solution? Unfortunately it is out of warranty, worked flawlessly for more than 2 years

Huh. I’ve had that happen too, didn’t put together that the issue was IR specifically.

Hope someone has some advice.

Very common. Never had this issue with the old “bad” remote.

This happens to me a lot. I use a sound bar with an optical connection to the tv. There have been times when I’ve had to re-plug the optical connection as well as the remote reset. I’m thinking my issue might start with a bad connection, not sure.
