Then later today I got a imessage on my phone from Apple sending me a one time code with the usual “Your Apple ID code is —————. Do not share it with anyone.” without me even requesting anything . Idk what to do has my Apple ID been hacked, please help

Change password and change the email address associated with your Apple ID. Enable 2fa on your gmail if you have already. Good luck.

This might happen if you lost one of your Apple devices and got caught by a scam iMessage trying to get a password from you.

First of all, you need to log out everywhere. Here is how you can do it: https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/tech/how-to-sign-out-of-icloud-on-all-devices.
