It seems to be something I've noticed in the past week or two that apps like Reddit or X(itter) kill music playback as soon as they are opened. Wasn't it the case that video audio would only get in the way if you played them or tapped them or whatever?

Is it just me? If so, how can I stop it? Perhaps Apple just wants me to stop using social media for my own mental health?

If the videos are muted the music doesn’t stop. It’s a stupid implementation of Reddit

It stops even if muted for me, that's the problem. Just opened Reddit on the phone now, music stops. First ad that shows in view has the x'ed out speaker icon.
