boring real newsThey say the peso and lira were too unstable and prices were being changed too often, so Valve just told devs to start setting prices in USD at "regionally appropriate" rates. I am not aware of Gaben's opinions on Argentinian politics, thankfully

Scarecrow Voice: I told you the dollar would stabilize prices, I never said they were prices you could afford.

Ruble, Hyrvnia and the Rupee are back on top for having cheapest games

Valve's regional pricing is now even more nonsensical than before and encourages piracy

It puts the lie to the idea that capitalism seeks the lowest prices - this whole system wouldn't exist if not for the fact that Valve and game devs are actually seeking out the highest price each market will bear.

Regions are literally the opposite of "Free" markets, and is proof that economists are the mouthpieces of capitalists.

It's because capitalism seeks the highest profits.

New Big Mac index

Rupee prices went up too recently but in most cases it's cheaper than the American prices.

They targeted gamers.

Gamers.

Gamers are competative, hard core, by nature. We love a challange. The worst thing you did in all of this was to challange us. You're not special, you're not original, you're not the first; this is just another boss fight.

It's 2023 and we STILL send death threats to Anita Sarkeesian. We are persistence incarnate.

Milei just lost 80% of his voting base

I'm pretty sure I already looked into this and I can't, but I wonder if I can make Kor free in just Argentina. I suppose it would be too easy to exploit with a VPN or whatever.

Gabe’s a libertarian, but he also probably realizes that libertarianism is a stupid government ideology and only benefits the individual and wants to take advantage before the eventual downfall
