Most people seem to be giving their ranks on MVP voting citing only QBs. It’s hard to imagine that just a title over 10 years ago Brees’ 46 TDs wasn’t enough to win MVP.

I’m curious as to who the real MVP candidates are. QB production is down so I’m really gearing towards awarding it to a defensive player like Myles Garrett. I know some people have also cited CMC and Hill.

Garrett or Tyreek. The talk of Hurts et all as MVP is silly. I could see an argument for Stroud if he continues tearing it up and esp if the Texans make a deep playoff run.

Should be Myles Garrett. The browns defense is single-handedly keeping them in playoff contention and he is the most dominant defensive player in the NFL right now.

Tyreek Hill, Myles Garrett, and CMC would be my top 3 non-QBs

[–] MrTonNL@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mahomes is playing amazing really, just major let downs by the WR corps.

That said, Tyreek has a real good shot if he passes the 2k. And Myles Garett on D?

[–] YeBobbumMann@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Run-CMC has had a touchdown in every game this year. Hand my man the MVP.

RB = Christian McCaffrey

WR = Tyreek Hill

TE = George Kittle

OL = Jason Kelce

DT = Dexter Lawrence

DE = Myles Garrett

LB = Fred Warner

CB = DaRon Bland

S = Jevon Holland

K = Dustin Hopkins

Ok. If you say so…

[–] chuteboxhero@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Tyreek or CMC. I would take tyreek though because while CMC is a big piece, I think the offense is less dependent on him as the dolphins are in Hill.

I’ve never understood why people are so shocked when a QB is chosen as the most VALUABLE player. The quarterback is usually the commander of the team. Look at the Chiefs. A bunch of bum receivers but they are still 7-3 because of Mahomes. So unless you have the 2000s ravens defense then the Quarterback is always going to be the most valuable for every team. Compare the outcry between Joe burrows injury and Justin Jefferson’s. Rant over.

Tangentially related, but upon grabbing a list of historical MVP winners I found the following:

1982: Mark Moseley (Placekicker - Washington Redskins)

Time to go down a rabbit hole. The idea of a kicker winning the MVP is so foreign to me that I can't imagine this ever happening again, a true 1/1

If Tyreek hits 2k he should Tun away with it

[–] thrillhouse416@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Definitely Tim Boyle

[–] KodysNuts@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jason Kelce cuz why not

[–] LilKaySigs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Christian McCaffrey

[–] AC127@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

As a Steelers fan I wanted it to be TJ, but he hasn’t been making the same number of impact players the past few weeks as he did at the beginning of the year.

Hate to say it but if I had a vote, it would probably be for Myles Garrett.

[–] _m0nk_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Give it to Jason kelce for being a human tractor

[–] Devilsbullet@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Trent Williams. We have two players in the MVP conversation, and neither would be without him, they were both pretty meh the games he was hurt/out

[–] Tequilacowboybouncer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I like stroud , hill , CMC , still have 7 games to go though

[–] p_rets94@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Myles Garrett, CMC, and tyreek hill.

I’d say aj brown too but hurts would get it if aj brown is still in consideration. At least hill can possibly win it over tua

[–] ShawshankException@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brees was robbed way harder in 2009 vs 2011. Rodgers was playing out of his mind in 2011.

[–] decisivelyvaguename@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Garrett, CMC, AJ Brown, Tyreek

[–] Rock3tDoge@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Tyreek is the most valuable player in the league in my opinion. He can change any game in 1 play and requires the most game planning for defenses. He is so much better than anyone that team could replace him with and his absence on the Chiefs is very noticeable. I also think Trent Williams or Myles’s Garret could be considered.

CMC without a doubt. Clearly the niners MVP and the Niners are maybe the best team in the league.

[–] jrc83@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

CMC. On one of the best teams and without him they are not as good.

[–] Slug_With_Swagger@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It may sound stupid but dexter

[–] ZachLaVine4MVP@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Myles Garret, Tyreek, CMC should be the top 3.

Once the league gives it to Hurts, or another non deserving QB it’ll solidify the award being a complete joke.

[–] prenderm@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Tyreek hill scores like 80 points against me in fantasy, he must be having a good year

[–] tercra@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Dexter Lawrence

[–] Elasticpuffin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

CMC. Just based on TDs or Puka. Just insane numbers for some no QB offensive guys.

[–] njpaul@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

CMC should be MVP. Niners would be a good team without him, but he opens up so much for Purdy and the rest of the offense and still has crazy rushing and receiving production as the number 1 focus of defenses.

[–] hanky2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s going to be a team that has 10+ wins and wins their division. Non-QB MVPs:

  • Mia: Hill
  • Bal: Roquan
  • Cle: Garrett
  • Jax: Josh Allen
  • Kc: C Jones
  • Phi: AJ
  • Det: St Brown
  • Sf: Trent

Cmc.. begrudgingly

[–] PotPoggers@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Im probably in the minority here but I'd love to see CJ Stroud win it, what he has done already is insane, if he keeps going up we're looking at a for sure top 3 QB and HOF'er.

[–] TimeCookie8361@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Travis Etienne.

[–] Illustrious-Fox7493@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's CMC and it shouldn't be close

[–] TheBonz13@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Tyreek Hill

[–] Iwan_Karamasow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Tyrek Hill or T.J. Watt

[–] daduq@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The one and only, goat Nathan Micheal Peterman aka og gangster crip peter pan

[–] YeezyWins@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Christian McCaffrey and it is not even close.

[–] IIlIIll@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Myles Garrett.

[–] sunsbr@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Kirk had this on his bag before he got hurt

[–] 6spencer6snitil6@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Myles Garrett

[–] SaMemeM@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

CeeDee Lamb is slowly but surely making his case. Not that it matters, considering it will be a QB.

[–] MAKE-YOU-HUMBLE@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The punter on the Jets.
