Has any single player had more influence on softening the NFL than Tom Brady? Seriously, the Tuck rule and the Personal foul by hitting a QB low were direct responses to plays Brady was involved in. Brady didn't say shit when those rule were administered. He also was the preeminent whiner screaming for penalties when he played.

Pro football is nothing like it was even 10 years ago. John Lynch, one of my favorite players of all time, could not play in today's NFL. He would be suspended and fined into oblivion. I loved seeing how hard he would make a receiver pay for catching the ball. Was he dirty? I don't think so. Is it better that hits like he made are being taken out of the game? Probably.
