Do I activate it using my iPhones data plan or do I need a separate one? Sry I’ve never owned an Apple Watch before. It’s the only apple product I never got into yet.

yeah you'll need a separate plan for the cellular on the Apple Watch, it doesn't use your iPhone's data. glad you're giving it a try though!
