“Fits 38-41 mm Apple Watch® sizes” Silicone Bumper Case. Would it fit on my series 3 42 mm watch? I know hard cases would be tough but thought maybe since it’s silicone it may squeeze in?

yeah, it should fit. silicone is flexible so it might just stretch to fit the larger size. worth a try!
