A very good article. US military doctrine has been oriented around air power for some 80 years now, but that's not always viable for other countries (especially when politicians try to avoid 'escalation' by not sending much-needed aircraft). Listening to Ukrainian soldiers about what they need, not the 'proper' way to fight a NATO war, is essential.

Probably it is that US doctrine is much more efficient - but there's no use for a screwdriver when you don't have any screws. You work with the tools you have, not the ones you wish you had.

Alternatively, give Ukraine the tools it needs and just clear the fucking skies already, Libya style. Fuck Russia.
