I am think about building a DIY nas as Black Firday is around the corner. Currently I have a i5-12400 laying around from my recent upgrades. The CPU seems to still cost about $200 Canadian on ebay. If I want to take advantage of ECC memories I would have to use a W680 motherboard with DDR5 memory, which should be significantly more expensive than a AM4 Ryzen. Should I buy a whole Ryzen system and maybe sell the i5-12400 afterwards, or just use it and pay the premium of W680 to use ECC, or simply just not have ECC and go normal Z690/B660?
