also, what the fuck, she's the protagonist of these movies. But lord knows they're dying to have Jenna Ortega take over as the lead now that she's famous

all the other actors have a responsibility to stand in solidarity with her and not work on this film

Let's be honest, it's a horror franchise on its 7th sequel, they don't exactly need to put in effort anymore. They could replace her with anyone and it wouldn't effect ticket sales.

that's true, though in this case the reason for her firing may very well affect sales. the audience of these films is largely made up of young people and horror fans, who are generally not pro-genocide. these movie producers have no idea how out-of-touch they are

maybe it's wishful thinking to hope for some sort of boycott but idk. if Jenna Ortega is out as well then this movie is fucked I think

According to this article she also wrote:

“Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp… Cornering everyone together, with no where to go, no electricity no water… People have learnt nothing from our histories. And just like our histories, people are still silently watching it all happen. THIS IS GENOCIDE & ETHNIC CLEANSING.”

It seems like this is the comment that she was fired for since the Spyglass Media Group statement mentions “false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing…” How they determined that anything she said was false is of course not explained.
