I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max running latest iOS.

Whenever I take a photo I end up with two photos (one with an E in the file name) and a .AAE file. So 3 files for one photo. I used to be able to turn off hdr but the settings make no difference nowadays. I have smart hdr off in phone settings and on the camera app itself I have hdr off too.

My issue is that my storage is being used rapidly, and as I use windows explorer to cut photos from my phone to my laptop I’m finding the .AAE files won’t delete so are creating loads of useless artefact files in my iPhone.

How do I turn off hdr? The iPhone settings used to work but haven’t for several months. Many thanks.
