I honestly only kind of care about the "story" and just want to watch a documentary about all the weird shit happening in the environment around them.

I watched this over my Thanksgiving break and am so in love. There are so many themes and ideas to dissect. I wish I could find a viewing party or discussion group about it. That's how I found your post.
I'm no great thinker, but I'd love to hear others thoughts on what I see this series positing. Are there always bigger predators? When can you trust your understanding? What does survival look like, and how do you know you have achieved it? What really drives us, biology or intelligence?
Came here to post about this series! Great sci fi, best of the year IMO. Check out the 'scavengers' film they made before the series:
We got to the end and it was so enjoyable straight through. The characters, the setting, yes it's not a very optimistic story but there is certainly hope worked in throughout.

The way the robot Levi just adapted and went native, compared to the way the human Sam literally died rather than adapt and give up what he thought of as his self was interesting and also the old lady who put him back together seemed like a future Ursula, she would have known/remembered what he did, right?
I guess I'm against the flow on this one. Everyone has been raving about it, but after halfway through the second I gave up.
I found it really slow, does that change?
It does get more character/plot-focused as it goes on, which ironically while I wish it stayed more like the first few episodes would probably appeal to you more in that sense.
Thanks, I'll push ahead and give it some more time.
Yes and no. I finished the show and the last episode or so has more action, but it's a pretty slow burn the whole season.
