The truthers tell you to ignore the evidence of your eyes and ears. It is their final, most essential command
Chicago Bears
This needs to happen. Like, now.
I don’t get how you give up on that guy after 2 seasons. But as a Packers fan 🤷🏻♂️it would be totally typical of the Bears.
hes a "you can win with him" quarterback, not a "you win because of him" quarterback. id like to see the later on this team before i die.
They need to trade for the guy then because I see no version of this franchise that can develop that guy. Has not happened since 1950.
He was the best player in the game yesterday, on either team. People shitting on fields clearly have an agenda. Go ask lions fans how they feel about our qb after yesterday
He made the throw, Scott couldn’t secure it
Mods should just make a Keep Justin Fields vs Drafting a Rookie QB thread and sticky it so that any new discussion can happen there instead of 50,000 posts a week on the same topic
This is THE conversation for this team. It’s the most big picture item in an otherwise pointless season.
Plus flair so we can ID which camp we’re in haha
They need a whole other Justin Fields sub. The amount of fanboys and haters has ruined the discourse. No place for real Bears fans to be.
But what else could we possibly talk about?!?!
Going to be a divided fan base for the foreseeable future
Fields played well enough to win for most of the game. He made a couple very good throws, including the (I’ll-advised) bomb to Scott. But on that play he missed Moore wide open for the first down, and he committed ANOTHER game-sealing turnover. I think with better coaching Fields could be an above-average qb with sporadic meltdown games where he’s the reason we lose. But we would be insane to commit massive money to him. Reset the clock with one of the two potentially generational qb prospects and put a strong offensive regime in place.
I'm not sure we can say 100% that we need a new coaching staff and at the same time say Fields is at fault for playing inconsistent. How much better does Fields need to play to be considered "not the problem"? And with the right coaching staff does he get that much better?
I think it makes sense to continue building around him through the draft and if we're having this conversation again in 2 years then make a decision. They whoever we get will have a solid team around him.
As much as I hate watching bears losing football and absolutely loath the off-season when we get 20+ posts of this every single day

Sentence fragment; consider revising.
Fields played great yesterday but I still need to see that every game. It's not asinine to go after a franchise QB with your first pick if you have any question marks on your current one. The idea has always been let's see these 7 games. Need to have a holistic view and stop with these posts after 1 game
lol no one knows if any of these qb’s will be franchise qb’s, specially if they get drafted by the bears.
We have 6 more games. Lets just let things play out. So far all we know is:
-
The coaching staff sucks
-
Fields has been inconsistent. Can he change that narrative through the rest of the year.
-
The QB draft is really good and Bears are in perfect position for one. The new coaches should get their choice and not be forced to keep Fields. If they chose to keep Fields then at least it was their choice.
Unless we’re 100% sure that Fields is a long term star QB by the end of the season it would be asinine not to draft one. You can still get an extremely impactful player to fill another hole with our other likely top 5 pick. In the NFL in 2023 you need a bona fide star at the position, not someone who is just good enough or is ever 7-27 in their career, I don’t care how many excuses people give him.
We scored 26 points when the defense generated 3 turnovers! How are we acting like that’s acceptable?
Because detroit have an excellent defense. They have only let up more than 26 to the Ravens and Chargers.
Such is what happens when you take the ball out of the hands of the one player generating your entire offensive production for the day vs. One of the top teams in the league.
As far as fields goes, they basically shut him down for the fourth quarter. Not that I'd object to him going rogue and ignoring all the play calls, but short of that, his hands were pretty well tied.
We went to the Superbowl with Rex Grossman.
Please pick Caleb
The discourse around Fields has been fucked from day 1 because of how damaged our fan base was from Mitch busting - now after trading for Fields and everything thats happened since... this next rookie is going to get eaten alive.
I really am convinced we have the dumbest fanbase.. atleast on reddit
There’s just to many QBs I’d be ok drafting on days 2 and 3 that I 100% agree.
Would love if we could get Daniels/Penix or even Taulia.
We didn’t lose cause of Justin but we didn’t win cause of Justin either.
We never should have been in that position in the first place BUT our series between the Lions touchdowns he needed to convert. The first play call up the gut was bad but the second run was an option and you could see Barnes not bite and wait out to his left and would’ve had a clear shot at Fields. On 3rd down he had DJ wide open crossing Fields left. Then on the final play he fumbles.
Yes he shouldn’t have been in that position to begin with but good QBs find ways. Fields 10 4th quarter TOs in close games and one game winning drive, not to mention a career average 165 yards per game aren’t going to get you far in the NFL.
I don’t see how a new coach can resist taking a QB if he gets a choice of Maye or Williams.
Yesterday showed me exactly why we have to draft a QB.
In the NFL, you have to execute and stop two-minute drills to win consistently
Goff scored 3 touchdowns on three tries in those situations.
Justin Fields couldn't score three if you gave him 12 tries
Fields didn't even have a chance to run a 2 minute offense. His closest thing to one was 25 seconds left in the game need 45+ yards with 0 TOs, all because this coaching staff is inept.
All Goff did in the game was check down to his RBs. Gibbs and Monty were nearly 1/3 of his passing yards all game. Hell in the winning drive, the RBs were responsible for 58 of the 73 yards to score.
Fields at outplayed Goff. Defense had 4 TOs and Flus decided to punt half of them away while Scott fumbled another away.
Delete this
Honestly at this point I’d rather just trade for Sam Howell if the commanders finished below us and they went for Caleb. He seems like a much more polished passer
I hate these dumbass posts more than I hate watching bears lose
You saw Fields lead us to 26 points off four turnovers, throw for 160 yards, and fumble on the final drive to seal the loss and concluded that’s all you can ever ask for from a QB?
I’m not even shitting on Fields. Especially you factor in his rushing, he had a solid game, but I don’t see how that was so good that it eliminates drafting one from the conversation. Bears fans really have the bar all the way underground for QB standards.
Does anyone making these tired arguments realize WE HAVE TO PAY JUSTIN ALOT OF MONEY.
If we want to keep him we have to backup a Daniel Jones amount of money for his mediocre play. Doing so will give us less flexibility to resign players and grab free agents.
Drafting a QB is the best thing to do when you're opening a window because it gives you several years to get it together before the payday comes. We missed that window with Fields.
If we're keeping Fields, give me the WR & the LT with the two picks.
At least JF1 didn't have any moments as embarrassing as that one Kenny Picket play lol... beautiful pass to no one
Well the only way to win that game is with a better coaching staff. And a better coaching staff won’t want to be hamstrung to Fields over their “own guy”. So you can’t have one without the other. That’s the decision we’re facing. Add all the “context” in the world, but it boils down to that at the root.
He needs to do it consistently.
I saw Mitch torch the Bucs the year they won’t the Super Bowl and make it to a pro bowl and we all still had a horrible feeling.
Point is, one game doesn’t mean shit.
Which of these other guys do people feel is that much better?
Williams I get the hype on but this entire sub has soured on him and his faults are obvious. So that's not most people's answer.
Also I feel like I live in a world where half the Drake Maye people were hyping him like mad even on Saturday for the first half, then just sort of ignored his actual numbers and second half. Maye might actually scare me more because I feel like it's the Twilight Zone with him and people either ignore or are mind wiped when he does play bad. That's scary. Dude is not Andrew Luck. Can we at least examine what keeps going wrong for him against the team with the best NFL talent in the ACC before we anoint him the slam dunk #1 pick.
It’s smarter to draft OL and WR. Get a more complete team overall. Then try to draft a qb.
Actual stockholm syndrome
I wouldn’t say Asinine, but unless they are a can’t miss prospect I wouldn’t draft QB
I am not sold on either top guy. Williams has been too inconsistent and eventhough it's not fair Drake Maye feels too much like Mitch 2.0 to draft. The team, the coaching is not there even if Fields isn't the guy.
What stupid, stupid hot take.
I won’t explain why it’s so stupid. Ok. I will: post a pic of all the QBs who balled out and were taken in the first round. 🤦🏻♂️
I'm so fucking tired of seeing this ice cold take, especially making NEW post that says the same shit fifty-eleven other posts people have made over and over.
