EJax should be gone. Brisker needs to stay healthy.

Eddie like Cody passed that razors edge this offseason of still hacking it in the NFL. They are here more or less for veteran presence. Both will probably be cut then eat the dead cap next year but ultimately saving 14 mil combined.

Eddie’s as good as gone. Competition should be brought in for Brisker.

Jackson will be gone and the bears will be hunting in FA this year - even with our record the holes on the team are much smaller but this is a critical one to fill.

Eddie way gone . Brisker has youth and affordability on his side, he’ll stay.

E-Jax will be a cap casualty this offseason. Jaquan will 💯be on the team next year. Hopefully next year he’ll have better luck with his health.

Keep brisker, cut Jackson

[–] AmbitiousChair1073@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brisker will be here. Sadly, I think it’s best for us to move on from Eddie

Brisker was notable when he was out. We could see the gap when he was replaced by a backup, with runs going for an extra 4 yards than they would if he was in.. There are much larger issues than him.

Bojak fancies himself as a modern Deion sanders. He wants highlight plays without having to do the dirty work and seems scared of contact.

We have too many other flaws to replace brisker, but he shares plenty of the blame for why we consistently get torched by good QBs. He's not a coverage safety.

Jackson should have been good two or three years ago

[–] wyaRumHam@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Why are people upvoting this? Eddie Jackson was very good last year

[–] apc961@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

There is no way EJ returns next season, the cap hit is minimal if he's cut and his salary is absurd for a washed safety.

[–] TouchGrassRedditor@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We will move on from E-jax due to his contract not matching his play anymore, suggesting we will get rid of Bricker is idiotic. He's a good player in a shitty defensive scheme

Jackson is a 12.5 million cap savings if we cut him in the offseason.

We could sign any safety in the NFL at less than that and have the same impact as Eddie Jackson does today. There is no reason to keep him.

We'll always remember those first few years.

This, ten times over.

Eddie sucks now. No ready to resign him. Every time I watch him play he’s getting beat by someone

[–] GandeyGaming@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jackson is very smart and commands them guys back there like a coach on the field. Also has good ball hawking skills. He needs to stay healthy and I think because of his health alone the bears will not bring him back, but they might. The Bears need to generate pressure in the trenches for these two to really shine. Brisker is a good hard hitting safety but also needs to stay healthy. I don’t think Jackson time is up just yet and would like to see him for another year.

This is only year two of a true rebuild. Poles gut this team and is building a nice foundation. Year 3 and 4 is when rebuilds start to contend and bare fruit.

So I’d like to keep them and address other needs on the Defense. These guys are last line of Defense and I think they have been asked too much to make the stop. With the Lions game, we saw our secondary start to make more plays on the ball. I believe this is because the signing of Sweat.

Keep both.

This is an interesting take, on the other hand EJax blew coverage yesterday and cost the bears the game by allowing a TD within a minute instead of keeping the WR in front of him. So he's clearly lost a few steps and will lose more by next season.

[–] Obi-WansForceGhost@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Keep Brisker. Cheap rookie contract. Eddie Jackson is let go in the offseason and replace with someone much younger

[–] LegendaryWarriorPoet@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Eddie is absolutely cooked, brisker is total ass but at least he’s cheap athletic and has some upside left

[–] chep127@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I love Eddie Jackson but he has lost a few steps.

[–] Bradlas3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm assuming they'll cut Jackson because of the cap savings. I just don't see him being worth the cap hit. To be fair any secondary player is going to look worse than they are running base cover 2 with no pass rush in 2023. Brisker is definitely worth another shot

[–] bradmcgi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brisker fkn sucks yall I'm glad bears fans are finally seeing it lol

[–] Treyred23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jackson will go down as one of the worst defensive players in Bears history.

A complete bum, other than the 3-4 plays he made in 2018.

[–] Round_Ganache_1944@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Eddie doesn't even try anymore.

[–] hammerSmashedNail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Both of these guys would look better with a better pass rush. Eddie is not the same player that got paid.

[–] BPAfreeWaters@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Eddie has lost a step, and needs a dominant D line to be productive. He needs to go.

Halas Hall never has made me feel safe.
