Does changing the motherboard of an iPhone change its serial number? (alien.top)

My mom's newly bought iPhone 15 Pro Max mother board broke in the first 2 weeks, we wanted to repair it but they said it will change the serial number which my mom does not want. We tried to get a replacement, which did not happen because of a shitty situation with apple service, and the person said that it doesn't change the serial number. Which is it? Does it or does it not?

Did she cause the damage? If not, the phone is still covered under warranty or you could try buy Apple care for a month and get it replaced/repaired by Apple themselves

it just broke down on itself, we didn't do anything and they don't want to replace it for us :(
