Unsent a message before it was delivered, does the notification still go through to the recipient? (alien.top)

If their phone is off or they don’t have service, and I send them unsend the iMessage before it reads as delivered, and before it resends as a text message. When the recipient turns their phone back on, does the “solivia916 unsent a message” appear to them? Or will it not go because the initial message was never delivered?
